I am wondering if there are legal issues here. My son spends a lot of time searching, he is eleven and he is willing to learn about IM, imagine the potential! Everytime now that h
As already said, having the parent's permission is key to most accounts (like on Squidoo). Legally would come into play as to how they earn their money, and what the guidelines are for paypal, bank accounts, and such. I'm about to set up a joint account for my son so he can manage his own paypal.
Great. I wanted to give my son independance but I´ll reopen an account for him that needs me involved. I would be involved anyways of course.
Thanks
Thanks for the confirmation Kyle, and to take this further I invite anyone with young ones that want to share experiences.
Both my sons have sites here on SA, but they are both over 18. I see Kyle answered the question for us all. Thanks Kyle!
My nephew is making money with Squidoo ( has been for over 7 months) - He just turned 12. He is not active on WA but sees some of the stuff that comes through his Papa's account and applies some things - His use of Youtube/Blogger/Squidoo has earned him some money every month. I think he spends it on pc video games and legos.
Personally I don't see an issue of this. There are some really awesome stories in the app development world about young kids being very successful on that side of things. As long as they have your approval, this would be OK. :)
Getting a start within the online world and understanding it at a young age I can only see being and advantage.
Yes, new generations come with a different wiring and know things intuitively. I am glad you are ok with it, can I asume WA is okey with this? Ill now research to see how it ties with banks. I opened an account for him but closed it since I, as the mother had to be involved, at least at physical branches with withdrawals and of course his account had somewhere attached the minor label. I don´t know if he can do his banking over the internet. I´ll report if I find any legal obstacles.
I have no problems with this, certain affiliate programs may have age restrictions, but overall I see no problem with a youngster getting into this.. All the power to them!

Good clarification from Kyle. As he points out also your son, and any minor, for that matter will bring new and interesting viewpoints. I see this in my young Grandchildren already
