Successful Thoughts - An Entrepreneurial Collation
Success is on my mind. I just watched some great videos outlining advice from well-known entrepreneurs.
Here is a very quick overview of that wonderful information.
Some of the names behind these big ideas - Jeff Bezos - Amazon; Steve Jobs; Elon Musk - Tesla; Sergey Brin - Google; Biz Stone - Twitter; Gary Vaynerchuk - Wine Library; Kevin Rose - Digg; James Altucher - Stockpickr; Robert Greene - 'Mastery'; Guy Kawasaki - Apple; Steve Wozniak - Apple; Mark Cuban - Cyber Dust; Tony Fadell - Nest; Simon Sinek - 'Start With Why'; Ev Williams - Medium; Reid Hoffman - LinkedIn; Jack Dorsey - Twitter, Square; Kevin Systrom - Instagram; Drew Houston - DropBox; Peter Thiel - PayPal; Alan Schaaf - Imgur; Dennis Crowley - foursquare; Leah Busque - TaskRabbit; Alexis Ohanian - Reddit; Palmer Luckey - Oculus Rift; Naval Ravikant - Angellist; Mark Zuckerberg - Facebook..... to name a few.
- PASSION is key to your success, because when it gets hard - and it will - your passion will be only thing driving you forward and stopping you from quitting.
- Sell, market and invest in what you understand. Don't go for something you think is easy but don't know anything about. Some knowledge and experience will always go far.
- Sell, market and invest in YOU as the target demographic. Understand yourself - understand your target audience. Study all your habits (especially financial) and you will know about your audience.
- Fill a need. Supply and demand. Look at your own life for inspiration.
- Don't listen to naysayers, ever.
- Don't follow trends.
- An entrepreneurial journey is hard work. Accept it now and be prepared.
- Learn excellent communication. Learn, practice and get better. Communication is everything!
- Take advantage of your strengths - don't waste them!
- Never give up.
- Don't horde ideas. Get the ball rolling. Start creating. Begin your project NOW.
- Meet like-minded people and network and communicate.
- Find a good partner - high intelligence, high energy, and high integrity. (Most invaluable and hard to find thing on this list I think!)
- Constantly seek criticism.
- Never stop asking questions.
- Mistakes are ok - keep going!
- Believe in your product, in your hard work, in your creation and YOU convince others of it's worth.
- Push the limits, and if you don't have moments of doubt, you probably aren't pushing the limits enough.
- Understand WHY you do what you do. What is your purpose?
- The hardest thing is executing your idea. Practice, advertise, execute, build and communicate.
- Take over small markets - don't go for giant ones.
- Make use of online communities - a wealth of information, feedback and experience.
- Test your ideas and make sure your audience likes it and thinks it works.
Has this inspired you? Success is something we can work hard towards AND achieve! I truly believe that. With the right mindsets, the right habits, and the right advice, we can go far.
All the best and I hope these words have given you even more motivation and focus. :)
Elsie.

Really good post Elsie,
All motivation and inspiration comes
from within we have to relax and let it come.
Martin
Thanks Martin, appreciate it.
Our attitude is what matters yes. When we let it come out as you say, we can do anything because we don't rely on anyone else.
Thanks for reading, :)
My family are very much naysayers. They point to my Herbalife disaster of some years ago, and to my dire financial position now. :(
Well, use that negativity to motivate you forward. I'm sorry to hear that they do that. It must not be nice.
Sometimes we fail, but we learn and we try again. Just keep at it. Everyday you learn something new and get a bit better. The trick is to never give up and never stop learning. :)
Wish you the best Calypso. :)
Herbalife would have undoubtedly cost you plenty of money just to get involved Margaret, at least creating an online business can be done without raiding the piggy bank.....tell your family it's your money and your life ;-)
Totally agree Mark. Herbalife is a completely different business model - not the helpful kind...
Totally your life Margaret. :)
Nice post Elsie. I wrote something along these lines a few hours ago, from a different perspective though.
So you did! Good post, good perspective. Passion is definitely very important however we look at it.
Thanks for the comment, :)
