Needing encouragement

I was google searching and came across a WA members website and the content was massive with so much information. I freaked out and started having anxiety over thinking OMG I don't know if I can do that. I understand on the website he said he's done it for years. I'm just going to keep going because I have to make this work. I refuse to fail. Anyone else have anxiety over content on their website when they first started?

I did so I just started writing in my niche. In time it became much easier and I learned how to write faster and with more accuracy and effectiveness. I tried not to absorb everything at once and went step by step through the training. If you look at it as a fun way of learning something new it's much easier.

I also felt like you. It looks like a really good educational system. I am sure that learning, practicing and trying always will surely succeed,

No expert here but when I look at other peoples reviews etc if it is crammed with too much content with links here there and everywhere I tend to switch off and come straight out. You need to check out blogs of guys in the top 100 because you won't see any of that. Just my opinion. Have a great day, Mick

Not really, every website no matter how big didn't start like that, it started from nothing but grew little by little and eventually became big. If you keep working at this, your site will also become huge and successful.

It depends. If it's a long review that's full of character, insight and genuine information, that leaves me thinking, "Wow, that was good, I've got to step my game up" then it's more a useful lesson than overwhelming.

However, if I read a long "in depth" review and it's mostly screen shots of the website I could look up for myself, or padded out with information copied verbatim from the sign-up process, then I'm not so impressed: it's telling me nothing I couldn't find out for myself, and I'm not fooled by the dressing.

I'd prefer a shorter, original review that tells me what I want to know to a longer fluffed out one of screenshots and copy & paste info.

Also, one with an original voice too. Too many are robotic or follow the WA template. Finding your voice is harder. At first I was more "professional" writing in a tone akin to an academic-essay style, but I enjoy looser, more conversational style reviews myself so now I'm getting more "abrasive" and just saying what I really think, not trying to fit my writing into some style I think is the right "way" to do it.

I've written articles everything from 500 - 11,000 words, a post just takes as long as it takes to get across what you want to say, A lot of reviews leave me cold, tell me nothing and are boring as hell, it doesn't necessarily need a lot of screen shots and infograhics to be 'good.'

Thank You. Your comment has me thinking in a way I was not before. The last thing I want to be on my website is fake. I want my readers to see me as a real person meeting my goals. and to show them they can too. To be honest, when I go to a blog that is too long I have a short action span and end up leaving the site. I'm just going to be myself and write as I normally do and take my notepad and pen with me everywhere I go so if I'm away from my computer and start brainstorming and can get them all written down and add my content later.

Put the content on your site. you'll be amazed at the positive results!

Thank You for the positive post! :)

Hi.
I am just starting my 3rd week here and yes it can be hard at times. But the training and support is so great that it is a force that keeps you moving forward. Every site is different and that is a big plus.
You will do just fine. Like you said don't give up. You will make it work for you.

Hi Elizabeth it can be stressful and very overwhelming when you first start. Just take it a day at a time and never be afraid to ask for help when you need it. You will be surprised how quickly your site starts to get more and more content on it.

Don't worry too much about what others have done and just concentrate on doing the training step by step and enjoy what you are doing. As you said, people have been here for years and others have been here just a short time but that doesn't make any difference, it is more to do with how much you work on your site.

If you find things are getting overwhelming then take a break and go and have a walk or something then go back.

I hope this is of some help to you. xx

Thank You this is very helpful :)

You are very welcome Elizabeth. xx

Oh, so sorry your home got robbed. That's just awful. I prayed for a long time that God would help me find a way to make money from home and I feel God placed this gift in my lap. My son is starting Kindergarten next week with his big sister that's starting the 3rd grade so, this is a perfect time for me to start my own business.
