I want to change my theme, is there any recommendation for the best health theme that is free? Thank you,

Hi, yes.

The majority here uses GeneratePress theme.

GeneratePress is extremely light, fast, well coded, SEO optimised, flexible, adaptable and customisable.

I also left some notes on below thread, you may wish to read through

I have a website. I am looking at changing the theme. I want a free theme for now. Thank you.

Hi Lanu, the most popular theme is Generate press. I have a health site and use it.

Best wishes,
Michael

Thank you.

when you are looking at a new theme look at the style of the theme rather than the sample images presented.
have you reviewed similar sites in your niches - how do they present their information...are they all hte same...
if they are your choice is simple ...go with hte flow....
if not then how do you want to present your planned information to your niche....
i hope you manage to find one
phil

Thank you.

I would recommend generate press theme. It is quick, lightweight, can be customized for any niche, and is very user friendly. The free version also offers more customizations than many other free themes.

I have also heard good things about Astra and OceanWP.

Good luck in whatever you decide!
Best, Shannon

Thank you. I will check on those you mentioned.

I have a new website in mind. Do you recommend website builder, and if yes, which one?

Do I build from scratch as thought here?

Many thanks for those who respond.

I have done a bit of research on this and to be honest the thing that concerns me the most is support and how much control you have over your website.

I have never tried any page builders like Wix, etc. I only checked the reviews on Trustpilot and they are not good. Most people complain about support and billing.

You can have the best and fastest website builder out there but if the support is no good I am not interested.

At least with your WordPress website you can move it to another host if you are not happy with the current one.

This is only my personal opinion after looking at reviews on Trustpilot.

Thank you. I have now buried the idea. Best to develop one's website with many themes out there is hugely positive.

It depends on what type of website you are planning to make. for example, my husband has catering business so I made the website using Divi Builder for the various style options it allows, you can look at the site here elitecaterers.in
If yours is a normal blog site, you can do it with a regular theme. but if you want super quick designs then builder will be good.

Thank you. I just think it's better to build on one's own directly using many of the beautiful themes out there.

Yeah, in the process one learns a lot. If you use the builder work is faster but the learning is little.

I am even concerned about the fact that one doesn't own the website eventually, and you cannot move away from them.

true...

watch this

I am NOT asking how to build websites. I have built several, my dear. What I am asking is using one of those several ready-made websites builders available on the market, like WIX, WEEBLY etc.

And the pro and cons of each, or build from scratch like we are taught here at WA.

Is there a way to upload Google drive photos into one's library for easy use?. Photos in Drive has restrictive use, other than storage and easy accessibility. Can someone pleas

You can download Google Drive to your local PC/Mac.

https://www.google.com/drive/download/

I chose the Personal one. I don't sync. I just created a new folder 'Google-Drive' and synced to just one folder on my cloud Google Drive.

This way, I have full control over what gets synced. Now if I want some images from my Google Drive in the cloud, I move them to my synced folder, and they will automatically be synced to my 'Google-Drive' folder on my PC(or Mac).

Then it a simple case of transfering any images I want in my WordPress Library from my local 'Google-Drive'.

I did download, and it shows in a separate folder, but have not synchronized yet. Perhaps I should synchronise then to make it easily usable. Many thanks for your help.

Pleased to have been able to help. 😊

Hello everyone, do we need to purchase additional website security like Blog Defender, apart from our SSL Certficates?

Thank you.

No, I don't think you need to spend any money to get more protection I think that what we have it just fine. I hope this helps you out

Mary

Hi Elijah, personally I would not spend money on website security. WA does offer you security.

If it helps I have found what we have here more than adequate and certainly enough to recommend people switching from their current hosting to here because of it.

Hey Lanu,

Here's Carson's blog discussing this very issue: Hope you find this helpful.

Good answerTrish

Thanks Trish!

I think we 100% safe with Wealthy Affiliate

No, not at all. Not only do you have SSL Certificate, but you also have SiteSecurity, that protects your websites from botnet attacks, malware and hackers. You also have SiteProtect that protects your websites from spam comments.

This their Enterprise security suite for your website is carried out both preventive and detective measures, which is really cool. Other hosting platforms will provide preventive security measures as an addon, and detective security measure as a second addon. And for each of them, you would have to pay extra.

But with Wealthy Affiliate, I've realized that you get all of that here included in your hosting plans so that all you get to pay is only your membership dues. Their Enterprise Security can be compared to SiteLock Prevent PLUS SiteLock Detect.

But Enterprise security does all that for you.

Not to mention the DDoS protection at the server levels. The security here is definitely top notch.

So the answer is NO. No need to pay extra for security here at Wealthy Affiliate. But it's totally up to your if you want to take the security of your website to an EXTREME LEVEL. Which is also good. But I personally don't really see the need.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.

You are welcome

I don’t have any further security. If hosted at WA I suggest that everything is pretty safe.
With Grace and Gratitude
Karen

Many thanks.

I don't think so, at least I haven't' seen the need. - Shirley

Thank you.

It's entirely up to the individual.

Thank you.

As a general rule, No you don't but its a personal choice

Many thanks.

No probs Lanu.
Enjoy your Tuesday.

There's a general trend where bloggers now offer free physical books, and ask potential customers to pay for postage and packaging, what's behind this new trend, definitely, th

Its a tactic for getting high-quality opt-ins to their list.

It is also a very effective tactic, that is why it is used. Doesn´t mean it has to be a "scam" or anything, only that the marketer behind the product have studied psychology marketing.

The word FREE for example is proven to be a very good choice of word in online marketing when it comes to getting clicks.

And so on...

Hey Lanu,
I do remember someone asking me to subscribe to a book once but I was too skeptical so I didn't. This was just last year before I joined WA. Just didn't seem legit somehow.

Tried and True

Elaine

It is legit, just wondered, what they are up to, or kind of some gain apart from collecting emails.

Interesting. I have never heard of anyone doing this. I had thought of doing this several weeks ago, but apparently others had already come up with this idea. Thanks for asking the question:)
Blessings:)
Suzi

Yes, it is common now, ask to give you physical book free, you just pay for P&P.

I have seen several so-called gurus saying they are using snail mail to snare their victims or customers.

Direct mailing is getting very popular in some circles and hence there is a monetary value to your physical address. These get sold on to the companies that deal in direct mail.

Derek

Ah, get it now, and if they have your home address, and all your card details, you and I know what that means. It stinks.

About a year ago I went ahead and ordered a book. It was a book about health. I gave my physical address and email address along with the small payment for the book. He was after my address not my email. The reason why? I can unsubscribe my email and by law he has to do that. But, there is nothing to protect an address. (That I know of) Anyways, I get all sorts of junk mail now in my mailbox and I was not receiving this kind of mail before. I think the addresses are what they are after now too! Also, they still get money for every book. It may not be a lot but they do get some money.

Thanks Sherion, this is unbelievable, I know they must also be gaining something, its becoming very common. Thanks for the insight.

I’m not sure they would gain my trust with this tactic
Blessings

I am weary sort of. I look for the cost of the book first, if it does pay in this way.

Hey Lanu,

You guessed correctly. This is a new way to gain and build an email list.... yup! That's all!

The shipping pays for the basic cost of the book PLUS the actual shipping.

Thanks Triblu, it's becoming the norm now, someone said he actually makes $1 per book like that. Funny.

That could be too... but makes their collecting email address soooo much easier.
