Stranger Helping Stranger?
Well I'm back safe and sound from my family camping trip. We went to Lake Whitney which is about 1.5 hours from our house. It was a belated bithday present for my daughter. She wanted to go camping on her birthday but because of work schedules we had to delay it to this weekend. She had friends who live very near there and all they were responsibile for was getting and a reserving a campsite. They came through in a BIG way by getting two campsites for us and they even letting us borrow two of their tents.
On this trip I got so many blog ideas but today I would like to blog about how stangers help stangers. An example, I was told the store was just down the road so I began walking to it and a car pick me up and drow me to the store. Turn outs "just down the road" is 4 miles one way. From a different group of people, they had found a loose dog so they were going from camp site to camp site looking for the owner. The final example was when another group was which whase getting ready to go home, offered all there leftover cooked food.
Of course we were sharing with some neighbor campers all weekend long that as it turns out were there because they were homeless. They also had the cutest little puppy that my granddaughter fell in love with.
We had a great time with many ups and down. Maybe a few more downs thans ups, but we tried to make the weekend a great time.
When I talk about strangers helping strangers this reminds me of what we do here at WA. Whenever someone has a question or simply needs a helping hand all they have to do is ask. WA folks will answer in a BIG way!! At first it maybe just a stranger helping an stranger but very soon it's friend helping friend!!

Thanks for posting, Elaine. When you reach out to help someone, it makes you feel better, doesn't it? It's all about empathy, and if we can't feel empathy for other people, we are lost as a human race.

Great Post, Yes, it is I agree with you 100% it first starts out a stranger helping a stranger but then we become family helping family and that is a cool part of this community.

You are right, Elaine, but you get very quick familiar with everybody here, most people I know by name, even when they have a nick.
Yes, people become family quickly here and that is something I really appreciate!!
