Ready Set Fly Away
Meet Lucy!!
She has white on her wings, along with the brown. They look so soft and feathery!!!
And when she takes off she will tuck her feet underneath her.
She can fly high in the sky or low to the ground. It all depends on how she is feeling that day.
She likes to eat worms and for a treat she will eat some fish.
Some interesting facts are listed below:
- Females are larger than males which is interesting because most are the other way around.
- Hawks can have a wing span of 55 in. and a length of 22 in.
- They have sharp claws and a muscular legs.
- They have a sharp bill that is used for biting and tearing prey.

That is awesome about hawk some interesting facts. We can learn something new every day. And we are never too old to learn something new.
We have my granddaughter to thank for this one. She selected the picture, gave me the facts, and read most of the comments.

Lucy sounds beautiful. Is she camera shy. I drive an hour away from my home often to see specialist. Each time I am getting ready to leave home I think about my camera and whether or not I would have time to shoot if I seen a beautiful hawk or snowy owl along the way. The days I answer yes, I see nothing, but the days I don't think I have time, I think I see one on top of every other hydro pole. I think they are messing with me or are camera shy.
Thanks Mike,
This was written by my granddaughter and I. She will pick out the pictures, state some facts, then enjoys reading the comments. Last time we did this she didn't get any comments or likes so she was a little upset.
Thanks for commenting today!! You made her night!!

I agree. She is going to be going to a fine arts next year and they also have a "camp" in June this summer. She is excited and nervous at the same time.

This is Elaine now but thank you so much you have just made her night. She is going to bed on cloud nine and is going to go to school tomorrow and tell all her friends. I wonder if I will get any referrals from that? HaHaHa they are having a blast.

I used to dream about flying as a child. Soaring on the air currents would be so "freeing". - Shirley
