It is always about attitude

Yesterday I did some shopping with my family. Now what I really like here in Asia is that when you buy a fresh fish then they in hypermarkets clean the fish, chop it as you like and you just take it home and cook.

The guy who usually does this cleaning and chopping job in one particular hypermarket here is very polite and friendly. Smiles, talks, gives suggestions which fish to buy or not to buy and why so. Not only that but he always does really high quality job – keeps his workplace clean and chops the fish very carefully. I always enjoy buying from him. I think that maybe my family even eats fish more often because of his attitude and the way he treats his customers.

But yesterday a new guy was there doing that job. From the very first moments I noticed that he did not really care – neither about me nor about the job that he did, nor the fish that he chopped. His work place was dirty and and he chopped my fish so bad that I had to interrupt and give him some suggestions. And then... he did it even worse. And I automatically thought that I won’t buy fish from him any more.

Martin Luther King Jr has said: “If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as a Michelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, 'Here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well.”

And I think that it is the same with online marketing too. I have already read quite a few times here that it is not so much about money but about helping people. I also read again and again that so many people here enjoy the atmosphere in WA. And I enjoy the same way. I am christian and I must confess (maybe it is too early but still, based on my recent observations) that the atmosphere here in WA is more friendly and supportive than in many, many churches. I just wonder how is it possible?

I think that the secret is this – the founders of WA, Kyle and Carson – really care about their WA members. And this is, in my opinion, one of the most valuable lessons I have learned here in WA until now. Usually in our World when people succeed then they get so proud and arrogant and become literally „untouchable“. But seems like WA is built up in different way – the very founders of it are here in chat room every day, answering the same questions over and over again, supporting and encouraging everybody. Every single question that I personally have asked them, they have answered. This is very impressive. Really.

We naturally want to go after bigger and bigger numbers but while chasing those bigger numbers we often tend to forget that behind those numbers are people (flesh and blood) – with their problems, worries, dreams, needs... We may work hard for our success but people feel very fast if we care or not. And if we don’t care, they leave. They are not stupid – they understand if we care about them or we care about our own success and numbers only.

I like this quote too from from Martin Luther King Jr: “Those who are not looking for happiness are the most likely to find it, because those who are searching forget that the surest way to be happy is to seek happiness for others.”

So what I want to tell - all the courses and teachings here in WA are very great. But maybe, maybe the best course that Kyle and Carson have put into this website for others to learn is their life example... the attitude and the way how to treat other people.

You are very wise my friend, I started here at WA 3 months ago so I can fulfil my dream to travel the world and achieve the highest understanding of humanity. Its interesting how our posts are in fact similar, I often forget to stay humble though. However I am always reminded as from this amazing blog has done yet again!

Jesse,

What a wonderful post. Thank you. Jackie x

This is exactly how I want to live my life.

Awesome post! I have to agree 100% with all of what you said here! This is an awesome place to be! That's why I try my hardest to get here everyday, even if I don't have much time to do anything but read a few of the blogs.
As for shopping in local stores, I know I go to the places where the workers are friendly and helpful rather than shop somewhere where you get "the look" like you are bothering them just by trying to purchase something. I've actually walked out of places without buying anything because of poor attitudes from their employees.
Thanks for sharing this...it's a good reminder for everyone to follow!

Great post. I too have had a great experience of WA. The positive attitude and understanding that when a question is asked is it needed to help learning in a vast learning curve. I love life and what I do, life isn't always easy and we often have to put a positive mind attitude into practice, often turning a situation around. Look forward to sharing here on WA best wishes.
