I had a light bulb moment a few days ago and want to share it with you.

One of the reasons I slowed down writing in my WA blog was I felt it was taking away time that I could be writing posts on my affiliate marketing website. But here's the thing.

My main website goal is to find entrepreneurs who want to use the Internet for profit. And then to show them how they can do this more easily and conveniently by becoming a member of Wealthy Affiliate. I accomplished this by sharing my Wealthy Affiliate review with visitors to my website.

Even if your niche is not about making money online or adding affiliates to WA for income, there are ways you can share the WA opportunity for your visitors who may wish to get into blogging like you have for profit or just for fun.

Light Bulb Moment

That's when I had that light bulb moment. I have written 243 articles on my WA Blog. Most of them are about lessons learned in affiliate marketing as well as other related topics. Was it possible to share these on my website using the affiliate links WA provides us with each of our blog posts?

I decided to use the incognito feature of the browser I use, Google Chrome, to check out what a visitor would see; Here is what I discovered. This is where the slow learner in me revealed itself.

My affiliate link opened my blog post with a few differences. Every so often a pop-up window would appear encouraging me to sign up and try Wealthy Affiliate out. It was easy to click that window out and continue reading my post.

The Magic Of WA Affiliate Links

If my visitor wished to learn more about Wealthy Affiliate, there was a link at the top of the page they could click for that purpose.

I also noticed that in the right margin was a list of all the posts I had written on my WA blog, In addition, they could click a link to my profile page.

An idea popped into my head on how to write posts on my website where I could use this feature.

Why not write a brief article that created suspense about my related WA post with the affiliate link at the end? And then ask for comments about my WA post?

Caveats And Upsides

There are a few caveats to mention, My intro article should not be long. Hence, it may not meet some of the SEO requirements, Since your visitor would have access to all your posts as well as your WA profile, you need to be comfortable with that situation.

The upside is your visitor will get a sneak peek within the walls of Wealthy Affiliate without having to sign up first Then there is the psychological effect of the pop up that will result in more affiliate sign ups,

Other Possibilities

One more thing, You can use this approach not only with your WA blog but also with the blogs of other members. You can also do this with the first 10 lessons from the OEC and Bootcamp and a few other areas that free members can have access to,

If this is something that interests you may I suggest exploring all the possibilities? Make sure you use a browser in incognito mode. Otherwise, WA will see your cookies and assume you are already a member.

I will test how this works out on my website and look forward to writing more frequently on WA. again.

I Value Any Advice And Suggestions

You may already be using the WA affiliate links in the manner I have describes. If so please share any lessons learned in the discussion area below. Also, if you can give me some do's and don's based on your experience, I'd love to hear that.

Thanks for reading and providing comments and suggestions.

Cheers.

Edwin

Very true, indeed, Edwin! Most of my referrals have been because of my WA blog posts! I also have a couple of blog post eBooks too!

Thanks for the share!

Jeff

Hi Jeff,

I am learning so much from the responses, including yours. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Cheers.

Edwin

Isn't it great, Edwin? You are very welcome!

Jeff

This certainly sounds like an idea worth exploring.

Are you certain we can link to other peoples' blog posts - that is ok? Reading the comments - it appears it is ok. Great idea.

Alex

Hi Alex,

Thanks for commenting. I tried using the affiliate links on other people's blog posts and it does indeed work. However, I suggest one may get better results by using one's own posts. Not sure this will be the case so just speculating.

Cheers.

Edwin

A cracking idea and one I have been using myself. WA is an open forum.

WA blogs are seen everywhere and indexed, so that when writing them, jaaxy should be used because as you point out, every article posted doubles as a landing page which has a pop up

Its why some people such as myself only post articles which are relevant because they have a better chance of being found.

On a side note it is why many folks who don't earn money in the first few months quit

What they may not realise is that content posted, will be found for days weeks months and years to come, hence leading to more leads and quite possibly the best turnkey marketing system on the Internet. Not to mention brilliant passive income

Great points you cover Edwin

I finally get it. This is why it makes sense to write WA posts that relate to the platform in some way, rather then feel good or social ones.

YES!!!... Absolutely Jim, spot on. Feel Good and Social Ones are okay, BUT a bit like the social side of facebook and I have friends who do this, literally every moment gets posted online, which I don't want to see or read

WHEREAS as you say posts relative to WA, or training or how tos are much more likely to get seen by google, because those posts have been researched to some extent using Jaaaxy, or Google or Bing.

So with your profile for example, you can use your about me page to send to people, because it like every other page you have created on WA acts as a landing page

When that page is shared with people, they can read the content ' quite happily, then a pop up appears inviting them to sign up.

that pop up can be clicked away, BUT they will see the other content you have written and if the titles are eye catching, then to read them they HAVE TO create an ACCOUNT.

Then they see just how brilliant this community is

SIMPLES x (That is not a kiss for you by the way, but the Meerkats kiss!!) as I like Meercats

Jim this is an example of what Edwin is talking about

Glad it was only a Meerkats kiss Dave. My wife loves them as well, they watch me from every angle of our house and property. Thank you for all the fantastic information. I'll go and click on that link below now.

Glad it helped, as Edwin says and I agree with him, there are so many possibilites for getting referrals to WA using this, its just not true

Brilliant Dave! Thanks for the explanation.

Edwin

Thanks Dave. Many thanks also for reading and answering the questions of members who have participated in this discussion.

Cheers.

Edwin

Very interesting information!

Hi Eddie.

You're most welcome.

Edwin

That sounds very interesting Edwin. Can't wait to hear about some results.

Jim the results come in the form of referrals and income, which I can testify to

Hi Jim,

Thanks for commenting. I will keep you informed.

Edwin

Hi Dave,

I have a few questions on how this works and will be sending you a PM if you don't mind.

Cheers.
