To Utah And Back Twice In Three Weeks - With A Business Twist!
It's uncanny how life works out. We had a wonderful three weeks with our grand kids. A 2-year-old boy, and two girls, 7 and 10. Christmas was amazing watching them find and open their presents under the Christmas Tree.
It all began with driving 770 miles to almost the north of Utah and back to bring them to our home in LA. Since several Wealthy Affiliate members asked me to share pictures of the stunning beauty of Utah, I decided to fill this post with pictures.
The weather was much colder when we drove out 9 days before Christmas compared to when we returned. I took a lot of pictures through the windscreen in a moving vehicle when my son's school friend was driving.
But there is more to this story as you will find out at the end with a business twist!
On Route From Logan to Salt Lake City
The cover picture depicts Bear River Mountain as we were departing Logan near the north of Utah.
Over 82 Miles From Logan To SLC
Fortunately the weather was great for this drive. Temperatures ranged from 0 deg F to 26 deg F.

The Canyons Through The Wasatch Front
I was asleep during the drive past Salt Lake City. We needed a stop to secure the 2-year old in the car seat. The grand kids decided to stretch their legs. The cold didn't seem to phase them!

A Triple Baptism On The 26th - A Special Moment Indeed
Our son had not had any of the kids baptized. He agreed to have them all baptized during their Christmas break. I shot a video that was shared with family and friends.
The Journey Back Was Mired In Fog In Utah. Visibility in many areas was just a few feet. This picture was one of the least foggy areas.
All good things come to an end. Or did it? When our son's friend and I returned to LA, we had an extra passenger. The 7-year-old granddaughter! Why so?
Home Schooling A 7-Year Old While Working On My Business
Our son needed our help to home school her to catch up with her class. She was also a firecracker that was prone to cause problems. He had just got a chance to try out for a higher position in his company and couldn't risk any home problems during this trial period. The 7-year old will be staying with us for January and February.
I am the one doing the homeschooling which creates a new challenge. How to fit in working on my business?
This is a fun but exhausting problem. At the end of each school day I feel caput. What do I do?
I decided to write posts mainly for my personal story website. Less research will be necessary. My last post here addressed this topic: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.co...
Since this is familiar ground I hope to make a lot of progress in this niche. The new Niche Finder will help me find travel, hotel and AirBnb opportunities in the locations I write about. My MMO site will take the back burner until our extended visitor returns home.
Interesting days ahead after covering 3000 miles over two weekends!

I particularly liked the photos at the start because my husband is from Preston, Idaho, north of Logan, and we've driven those roads many times. Not lately, though.
Hi Rosana, thanks for commenting. Glad to know you’re familiar with that area. Logan is quite an interesting town. Hopefully I’ll have time to explore that area more in the future.
Cheers.

Beautiful grandkids! Having 3 baptized at once must have been so special! I homeschooled my 2 youngest for 2 years. It was surprisingly wonderful.
Hi Veronica, glad to learn you’ve also homeschooled kids. This is my first time and it’s exhausting. Not while I’m doing it, but after. I suppose I’ll get used to it. It’s gratifying when Diana gets it.

I saw you drive by me on I 15 in Mesquite NV. LOL. I am half a mile off the 1 15.
I missed the cold snap at home in NW Montana 50 miles south of the Canadian line where it was 40 below zero with the wind chill.
Darn!!! That doggon Global Warming missed Montana.
You can see some of my home photos on the Glacier Park website.

It is home for me 7 months a year now. Thank God.
Super nice post Sir. Thank you, I enjoyed the story, Edwin.
Your friend,
Steve
I like your sense of humor Steven. Glad you can relate to these pics. I checked the links in your response. Such magnificent scenery and so serene.
One can never exhaust the beautiful places we can visit within the US. When I first visited LA I drove to the nearby National Parks and enjoyed it all.

Sounds like you all had a fantastic time Edwin and some of those images we can only dream about seeing!
Take care my friend!
Hi Nick,
Never a day goes by that I don’t feel grateful for being able to visit and enjoy Gods great lands around us. Thanks for your appreciation.
Edwin
Excellent images, Edwin, and another excellent opportunity in your wonderful life, my friend!
You are awesome!
Jeff
Hi Jeff,
Glad you saw these pics. I was thrilled that they came out fine taken in a moving car and through the windscreen. I edited that out.

Hi Jeff,
I am looking forward to this week. Except I will be having surgery on my right hand to fix the freezing up of my fourth and middle fingers.
Cheers.
Edwin
UGH, Edwin! I hope that all goes smoothly for you though, my friend!
I hope the recovery is not too long either! Still, enjoy the new week!
Jeff
Great pics Edwin. I am sure you will raise her well and diffuse the firecracker inside with love and support. I look forward to the subsequent progress blogs. Much success and blessings to all of you.
Hi David,
I always appreciate your supportive words. All she needs is the right attention from her Dad. He’s so busy working to pay for bringing them up he doesn’t see what he’s missing. He needs coaching as much as his daughter. That’s one of my priorities.
She’s a smart and perceptive girl and needs to be handled differently from her siblings. I hope to give my son some pointers before Diana returns home.
Meanwhile she’s having the time of her life here.
Cheers.
Edwin
It's meant to be Edwin. Both of them will understand the importance of love. Both will be just fine.
Hi Myra,
Thanks for your comments. If our son wasn’t living in northern Utah I would never have driven through those incredible areas. Sharing the driving helped enormously.
Cheers.
Edwin
Wow, Edwin! Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful pictures and experiences. Sounds like you’ve been having an incredible time. Best wishes to you!
Susan
Hi Susan,
Glad you liked the pics. I was surprised how well they came out considering the car was moving and the window was not that clean. I’m looking forward to that drive in the summer.
Thanks for commenting.

Now, this is what I miss, seeing the beautiful country while driving. When we left Logan Utah March 2022, our last run it snowed and was very cold with temperatures dropping below zero, now in Florida where never snows.
Adorable grandchildren, all smiles, and nothing like grandparents spoiling the kids and then send back to the parents.
Baptisms are a special occasion, thanks for sharing their beautiful smiles with us.
When is the next break to spend time with grandchildren? Ours is spring break, that week is ours, and then when school is out for summer they will spend a month with us.
Hi Janette,
Diana will be returning at the end of February. Having her to home school brightens my day. The next time we could have all three over is Summer. We have a water park near us with a humongous swimming pool with sand around it to simulate a beach. Plus it has a water slide. They could have a lot of fun there.
So you’re familiar with those mountains and roads I showed.
Cheers.
