How About Scheduling Just 2 Hours A Day For Your Business

I am writing this article mainly for new members. Let's assume they have already selected their niche and their website theme. And completed their About Me and Privacy Policy pages.

Others who are also strapped for time may find this article helpful.

What if all you have is 2 hours a day to spend on your affiliate marketing business? And what is the most effective way to spend them? Here are some ideas that could be helpful.

The first question is what time of the day is best. The answer will be different if you are working full time compared to being retired.

Working A Full Time Job

Let's assume this is a day job where you have to leave for work about 7am and do not return home until 6pm. The chances are you will be very tired when you get home. Your mind may not be in the best state to think of working your business.

Why not relax a little, have dinner and wait till 9pm before starting. Finishing at 11pm will still give you enough time to unwind and have a good nights rest.

I'd like to suggest having a shower before starting or at least washing your face. That will be very beneficial in reducing stress before you begin. If you are able to, listen to some calming music before you begin, or even while you are working.

For Those Who Are Retired

When you are retired, you have more flexibility. You also have more time to spend on your business. However, for this article I will stick to the 2 hours.

In my opinion, the best time to work is mid-morning, after breakfast. My suggestion is 10 am to noon. Of course, the 9pm-11pm slot will work well too.

Working after lunch is not a good idea as your metabolism may slow down. Another good time to work would be after doing exercise if you do have a daily exercise routine.

Let's get to the heart of this article on what to do in those couple of hours.

Schedule of Tasks

I'd like to suggest having one day in the week off from working your business. This will allow you to reward yourself by doing something different.

If you have a hobby, do that instead. I like to play the piano so that's what I do.

Since there are so many aspects to this business, let's split up this schedule for each day. Some tasks will be performed daily, and others on specific days.

Consider these activities fitting into a weekly plan.

Day 1 - Monday

• 1 Hour Training - OEC of Affiliate Bootcamp
• 30 Minutes Keyword Research For New Article
• 30 Minutes Research Content For New Article

Day 2 - Tuesday

• 1 Hour Training - OEC or Affiliate Bootcamp
• 1 Hour Writing Article and Publishing On Website

Day 3 - Wednesday

• 1 Hour Checking Out Material on Wealthy Affiliate and Engaging With Others
• 1 Hour Watching an Archived Webinar Related To Training From Live Events

Day 4 - Thursday

• 1 Hour Training - OEC or Affiliate Bootcamp
• 30 Minutes Keyword Research For New Article
• 30 Minutes Research Content For New Article

Day 5 - Friday

This day is different as the weekly webinar is scheduled for 5pm Pacific time. If you can attend this live, then do so. Allow 90 minutes as Jay runs his Q & A at the end. When this is over I suggest following up on the topics discussed. If you can't watch it live, then review the recording that will be available later.

Day 6 - Saturday

• 1 Hour Training - OEC or Affiliate Bootcamp
• 1 Hour Writing Article and Publishing on Website

Catching Up On Missed Tasks

Although I recommended not working on your business for one day, Sundays can be used for catching up if you have fallen behind.

The Training

I have assigned a total of 3 hours each week for your affiliate marketing training. How many lessons covered in this time will be different for everyone. It is more important to spend enough time it takes for the lessons to fully sink in and to also complete all the tasks assigned.

If you need to redo a lesson in order to understand it better, please do so. You also have the option to ask questions in the discussion area if there are areas you need further explanation.

There are two other areas where you can get help.

When you enter a topic or phrase, a selection of relevant answers will pop down. Pick one that most closely addresses your concern. If this turns out to be wrong, try again.

Help Center On The Left

By clicking the Help Center you will arrive at a window where you can ask questions. Enter your question there and someone will get back to you pretty soon with an answer. This is a good way to also develop rapport with other members.

Creating Content

Notice that in this schedule I have assigned two articles a week. Some lessons may require three a week. If you can add extra time each day to do the research for Keyword, Content as well as write the article, then do that. The two hours I have recommended is a fast paced approach. If you don't have sufficient time for to do all these tasks, then spread it over more time.

Creating 100 articles a year is a worthy goal to have and to accomplish. Google only starts to recognize you as an authority in your niche when you have at least 100 quality articles published. One thing the really big money earners have in common is their websites have hundreds of articles published over several years.

This is your schedule. Hence, you can amend it to whatever works for you. This is only meant to be a guide.

Offer And Request Feedback And Comments

Wealthy Affiliate has a most effective system where you can get feedback on your website and comments on your articles also called posts. You can access this system via the Website Tab on the left. To earn the right to request one comment, you need to offer and give two.

Please note that there is a big different between giving feedback and comments.

Feedback is the place where you can provide critique to the author. Here you give helpful tips for improvement as well as areas that you feel have been done well. Go easy on the critique. Deliver these comments positively.

Comments on the hand respond to what the author requests. So read these requests first before responding. The author wants to know if you have any questions about the topic. Or comments about your experience with it. Things like that. No negative responses at all, even if you think the article is terrible. If you don't want to participate, just click out of the post.

Google loves seeing engagement to posts. Hence, this is a great way to enhance your ranking.

Remember I scheduled 1 hour a week to check out things on WA? You could use that time for feedback and comments.

Keeping Tabs

It is important to create a daily check list to check off the tasks you complete. In this way you will be accountable to yourself. If you fall behind you will know it sooner rather than later. Remember, I have left one free day, Sunday recommended, when you can play catch up if necessary.

Assuming you get Sunday off, that will give you more time if you need it. If your day off happens to be another day, then assign that day as your free day for catch up.

Advance Planning

May I suggest that before you start scheduling anything, you spend some time thinking about what you want to accomplish and how much time you will be able to devote to it. Then use this article as a guide to fill in the blanks in a way that will work for you.

The critical take away is that you spend time thinking this through. The old adage holds true here. If you Fail To Plan, You Plan To Fail.
