The Power of Engaged Thinking - Magic!

We think all day. I ask you, how much of that thinking is ENGAGED THINKING? You may be wondering what is engaged thinking. Let me explain.

Some Examples

A SOLID OBJECT

Let's pick one item familiar to you. Perhaps an item of jewelry you are wearing. And if you're not wearing any jewelry, think about an item of clothing like your shoes.

Did those items come into existence by magic? Everything around us begins its life as a thought in someones mind. That thought evolves into a documented design on paper or on a computer. Eventually the design evolves through craftsmanship or manufacturing into a product. The person who originally thought about that creation before it even existed, except in their mind, is one example of ENGAGED thinking.

I took the picture of the Parthenon above in Athens, Greece on vacation two years ago. This masterpiece of construction is the perfect example of ENGAGED thinking. Do you think the idea for that structure originated by committee? NO. It was the creation of a Greek architect called Ictinus. The massive structure needed the cooperation of an army of others in order to come to fruition. But the idea originated from one man's mind.

PROCESSES - the magic that transforms

Linking with the above example, someone had to think about the processes necessary to convert a design into a product. A lot of thought is necessary. For more complex objects it may take a team of individuals to think together. This is another example of ENGAGED thinking.

MUSIC - the magic of imagination

Did you know the amazing British Classical Composer, Sir Edward Elgar created his musical score in his mind while walking in the countryside? After the work was finished in his mind all he had to do next was to write it in a manuscript. I definitely am not implying this is a common skill.

Many musicians today do not know how to write music. In fact most have not had formal musical training. They taught themselves by experimenting with a musical instrument and mimicking popular artists. In that way they learned how to develop melodies, harmonies and rhythm the three underlying basics of a song. Here's where the ENGAGED thinking comes in. Often times they think of these components in their heads and later develop their ideas using a musical instrument. This is yet another example of ENGAGED thinking.

WEALTHY AFFILIATES - magical moments

We are all fortunate to be here to learn how to create one or more businesses online. In this way we can leverage our time to produce more results with less effort. WA was the brainchild of Kyle and Carson. They had to think hard about this project. I am certain that this thinking went on even when they were not at their computers. In fact, some of our best thinking is done when our minds are stimulated by other things like nature. There must have been a lot of trial and error. Although I do not know this for a fact, I feel that a huge amount of thinking was done whenever they were in between doing other important tasks.

WASTED TIME - the magic lost

Time is the most precious commodity we have. Think about it. Once the moment we are in right now is gone, no amount of money or effort can make it return. I challenge you to develop the skill of ENGAGED thinking when you are in between doing important things.

Like when you are driving. Riding the bus. Flying. Eating a meal by yourself. Getting ready for work in the morning, Washing. Showering. You MIUST make a conscious effort to use your mind wisely during these moments otherwise you'll end up daydreaming about stupid things. Or worrying about unnecessary things.

Do you think that makes sense?

TIPS - 7 magic steps that can be learned

When you have one of those wasted moments do the following:

1) Think of a problem you have that needs solving. The best problem we have at WA is how to create a thriving online business using the tools and knowledge we have at our disposal here.

2) Review the courses we are taught and imagine a way to use them strategically. Here is where we let our imaginations run wild. Anything goes. Think out of the box.

3) Now connect the ideas from 2 with the lessons we have learned. Decide what could work and what couldn't.

4) Creating a business online is a major undertaking, Do not try to solve everything during one thinking session. Focus on just one or at the most two facets and dig deep to think about solutions.

5) If you get stuck, more onto the next task in your plan.

6) Use your cell phone to speak your ideas and solutions, or write them in text so that you will not forget.

7) I suggest starting this process at random.

However, after the first attempt you will realize that having an advanced plan could help significantly. When you are at your computer, tablet or desk, create that plan. Think of building your business as a project. A good guide is the sequential layout of the lessons in the Training. Create a list of issues that need solving where the solution of one leads to finding the solution to the next problem. Some problems may need solving multiple other problems before that one can be solved.

Folks, I am only proposing some ideas on how to use those wasted moments to our advantage. If you keep at it eventually you will discover that

Hi Edwin

Thank you for this well-written post!

I agree, it is amazing what can be accomplished in small amounts of time!

I remember many moons ago when I was still in school, a teacher-friend challenged me to make my way to the next class and start working on my homework while the rest of the class are on a stroll and delayed getting seated. I was amazed at how much could be done in those few minutes and in how much free time it resulted!

Having a small notebook or digital device handy for making notes and using those few moments is also important.

Thanks for sharing, Edwin!

Sharlee, you made my day by validating my topic, Thanks a million!

I have noticed that the comments have no connection to my Blog topic. A few days ago I was guilty of commandeering someone else's Blog to discuss a subject that had nothing to do with it. I can't remember how that happened. The only thing that could have taken place is I saw a window for comments and wrongly assumed it was for general discussion.

Nevertheless. I would much appreciate any comments on this Blog Post.

Thanks!

Hi Edwin. Thanks for the post

You're very welcome Carol!

I'd soon buy my own domain.

Danny

I personally think its better to buy your own little piece of property on the net rather than "renting" so to speak.

is it better to buy a domain or use the free version?

At first use the free one. After you are happy with what you are doing it is better to buy a domain that stands alone and looks professional. WA shows you how to transfer everything in your free siterubix domain to your bought one.

It's up to you to decide when to make that transition. I made that in my second week after ai had a couple of posts completed.

For learning you can go with the free but you're already premium so the $14 a year is negligible and I believe an actual .com related to your niche is better for your site.
