The Most Important Part Of Your Day - What Do You Think It Is?

No, this is not a trick question. What do you think is the most critical step in any activity or journey? It is that first step. That first bit of action you take.

We are all encouraged to create a daily schedule. Which should be in alignment with a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly schedule.

Nothing at all will get done if that first step is not taken. And you will not reach your goals if that first step and all subsequent steps are not taken as planned.

It is a good idea to think about what you have planned for the next day. Will that take you closer to your goals? What is the first activity you have on your list?

Think about that before you go to bed. Visualize yourself actually taking action at the time you had planned. Feel yourself doing what you have planned in your imagination the night before, By doing this you will have accomplished three important things.

  1. Knowing exactly what that activity is going to be will save you time when you awake.
  2. The act of thinking and imagining what you will be doing, programs your mind.
  3. Your brain will subconsciously think about solutions to any problems you may face

Answer To The Question Posed

This gets me back to my question. What is the most important part of your day? The answer is the first action you take in connection with your business. It doesn't have to be the first thing you do. Life comprises of other things apart from your business.

That first business activity could be any time of the day. Hopefully, it will be in the morning. If you have a full-time job, perhaps you can fit that in during your morning break.

The First Step

The saying goes that any journey starts with that first step. Hence, your day's journey in time starts with that first step too.

In this case, that step is akin to the very first planned activity you take after you awake.

Does this make sense?

Sounds so simple. Almost elementary. Life should be simple. Unfortunately, we complicate life by overthinking things.

What Is Your First Activity Related To Your Business For Tomorrow?

Please share what that is. And why did you choose that activity? Keep it simple.

Mine is going to be continuing to work on my new blog. I want to publish it on Sunday.

I wish you much success in your affiliate marketing journey.

Cheers.

Edwin

Well written Edward and On Point! 🤓

The first step ties nicely in with the "slight edge philosophy" which works amazingly well in every aspect of life.

The first step in my affiliate marketing journey is to write on my next blog, for at least 30 minutes every morning.

As a blogger, my content is the fuel that "propels" me to the goals and milestones I have.

30 minutes of writing might not seem much. But add it up for a whole week. 7 days of 30 minutes with focused writing total 3.5 hours per week.

The 30 minutes makes me move forward every day in my journey

Even small steps forward add quickly up to a significant number if we are consistently showing up for our affiliate marketing journey.

Hello Roy,

The winning element you have is consistency. You do an activity that is the lifeblood of your business and you do it consistently.

Thanks for commenting.

Edwin

The first action of my day is always the same: On my FB group page, "A Clowder of Cat Ladies," I always start my day with two things. The first is a question for my clowder -- something having to do with their cat; the second is called "Today's Cat-Nip," and is a quote about cats.

The second one I look up, but the first one I have to plan for. I

Well, shucks! The message published before I was done!

The first one often gets my brain humming right after I wake up, as thinking up a new question every day is becoming more and more challenging. Then I'm in the mode and can continue with whatever comes next.

I like the cat inspiration. My wife just returned from a 10-day pilgrimage to the Holy Land. She noticed that there were a lot of stray cats around. They all looked well-fed which indicated the locals were taking of them.

I've never heard of the word Clowder before. I learned something new from you today Fran.

Thanks for commenting.

Cheers.

Edwin

Yes, in many countries, the locals take care of their feral cat population. I think that is so nice! And, I'm glad you learned a new vocabulary word.

Now it's time to go publish my next post. Good to chat with you, Edwin.

Fran

Great read Edwin! For me ths most important part of my day is having the privilege to wake up.

If granted this privilege, then I must make sure that the family and my pup have everything they need!

Businesses come and go in my experience so are not my top priority if I wake, family on the other hand is a different story.

Hi NIck,

Good to know you have your priorities right. Thanks for commenting.

Edwin

Mine too, Nick! The day we don't wake up is a moot point!

🐫🐪😳

Absolutely Jeffrey! We never know which day will be our last!

Thanks, Nick! That's why it is important to live each new day to the fullest!

It certainly is Jeff!

Yes, indeed, my friend! 🐫🍺

Hi, Edwin

Great post!

Unfortunately I was not born with the gift of consistency, but somehow I usually manage to complete the most important tasks of the day.

I have worked on being more “schedule-driven” over the years and I seem to be improving.

By definition, the well-being of my patients is my primary business and they have always come first, anytime of day or night.

I work on my website most every evening, as time allows, and it’s something I always look forward to.

Many years ago I realized it’s best to make the most creative or enjoyable encounter the first task of the day, which for me is playing music.

As the day wears on I become more “reflexive” in my thinking.

I spend time with my wife every chance I get and we manage to watch a movie together at lest five times a week, which some will view as “lost time,” but balance and happiness in life is important too.

Frank

I would love to have the opportunity to watch a movie or program with my wife five times a week! That would be time well spent, IMHO. Good on you, Frank!

Jeff

You only live once, Jeff, so have as much fun as you can! 😊

That's what I always tell Monica, Frank! Times a wasting!

Jeff

Hi Frank,

I can relate to you. My wife and I watch TV together every day. When I disappear to the office for long periods of time, it is not fair to her. Hence, I often have my laptop with me and work while we are together.

Sounds like your profession keeps you mighty busy. And so it should when you have patients. This means when you do spend time on your business, you have to be disciplined to make the most of that time.

I think playing music is a nice touch. It can set a positive mood for the day.

Thanks for commenting.

Edwin

LOL!

You're right Frank. I'm having the time of my life. Retirement feels so good.

Edwin

Hi, Edwin

Time management is key, but you can “over-manage” yourself and then be left asking “where did all the good times go?”

We have a home theater room and structure our movie time like going out on a date. We have drinks, candy, and popcorn (which probably explains why I am so fat).

For example, my wife knows we have a
standing date to go to the movies every Friday night at 9 PM EST, right after Jays webinar. We select the movie at dinner time and “it’s on!”

We very seldom go to the actual movie theater because I built an IMAX quality home theater that makes our local movie house look and sound pretty bad. Sometimes we go, if there’s something we can’t wait to see at home on 4K,

You don’t have to spend a lot of money, just designate a room or space in your home as a “no work” zone and make frequent dates with your significant other to go there.

I’m probably corrupting the work ethic of the group, so I’ll stop now. 😊

You’re definitely on the right track, Edwin! 👍😊

I totally agree with your assessment, Edwin. One of Monica's peeves whas that I was always on the computer while we were watching TV together. It is something, in retropsect now, that I wished I could have changed!

Jeff

Wow, Frank! You seem to have established a healthy balance between work and play. As the old saying goes, "All work and no play makes (Fill in the blank) a dull boy (or girl)"

Jeff

What can I say, Edwin? 🤣😹

Wow, Edwin! If this is retirement, I can certainly imagine what a day was like when you were working! Nevertheless, it keeps you young, my friend!

Jeff

Thanks, Jeff!

It's probably easier for me than some, because it's in my nature.

When it comes right down to it, I'm a rock n'roll guitar player that does other things to earn a living, although I must admit I love helping people too.

No matter what I do, fun always seems to come back to haunt me. 😊

Fun is a GREAT thing to be "haunted" by, Frank! If it weren't for fun, our work life would have no meaning!

Jeff🌞

But, ... if it weren't for work, fun would have nothing to haunt!

🤔 You make a very valid point there, Frank!

Jeff
