The Benefits of Reviewing Lessons Completed

When we start either the Online Entrepreneur Certification (OEC) or Bootcamp, my goal was and I feel many other's goals were to complete them as soon as possible. We all have our own rate of progress so what is a fast completion for one person will be different for another. We should only compare our progress to our own standards.

What Were The Objective Of Earlier Lessons?

If you asked yourself this question, especially if you are well into the course, could you answer this without checking?

I am about to complete this with only two lessons left. Let me list the objective of each of the 5 Levels in the OEC:

Online Entrepreneur Certification

  1. Getting Started
  2. Building Your Own Traffic Producing Website
  3. Making Money
  4. Mastering Social Engagement
  5. Achieving Maximum Success Through Content Creation

Bootcamp

I have only just started Bootcamp. Here is the list of the 7 Phases:

  1. Getting Your Business Rolling
  2. Content Keywords and Conversions
  3. Giving Your Site Social Value
  4. Get Visual. Get Authentic. Get A Brand Through Media.
  5. Knowing Your Audience and Catapulting Your Referrals
  6. Bing, Yahoo and The Power of PPC
  7. How To Scale Successful PPC Campaigns

Would you believe that this is the very first time I have actually seen the OEC 5 Levels and the Bootcamp 7 Phases of lessons all on one page? I can see them all at once. Bootcamp in many areas in my mind is a more advanced course than the OEC.

Results

I know I will find out that there were actions required that I didn't complete sufficiently well. Especially in those that were designed to give us higher numbers in Google Analytics and Google Search Console. Tweaking our posts would indeed he a good thing, Right?

Don't Beat Yourself Up

Yes, do not beat yourself up. Rome wasn't built in a day. I look at it as a good thing if my website hasn't received lots of traffic. Here's the reason. The earlier posts were written before we had the wisdom of the lessons ahead at that time. Some may say do not return and fiddle with your old posts and focus only on the new ones.

I disagree. What I do not recommend is to make drastic changes to those posts. Leave the titles alone. And don't change the URL. But it will pay to tweak them to incorporate lessons learned. I feel confident that when I do that my results will improve.

A Good Foundation Pays Off

This is all about building a strong foundation. If we are willing to accept poorly created posts, then we will be duplicating mediocrity in our future websites.

Once we learn the magic of doing things correctly like we are taught, that will be like gold.

It may take a while longer to get things right. Don't you feel that is time well spent?

There are other things that can help build a strong foundation.

Jay Neil has created a large number of Webinars on topics that provide added insights to support the lessons we were taught by Kyle in the OEC and Bootcamp. They are all recorded and can be accessed by clicking the Live Events link on the left. That title may be a tad misleading. The events were live when they were originally delivered on the dates shown. However, the term live really means that the lessons were recorded live.

Don't let that term make you lose out on a wealth of valuable instructions that you can use in your online business.

What Do You Think?

Do you agree with me or not? I won't be offended if you didn't. I am a slow learner and do not remember things well. Others may not be that way and have absorbed the lessons well. If that is your situation then dion't waste your time reviewing the lessons. You will know if you are in this category if you are already getting good results for your website. But if you are not, then I suggest you review the lessons again.

No matter what, I would like to get your view on this Blog.

Thanks for your time and for such a share.
Cheers.

You’re most welcome. I wish you much success in your online business. Cheers! Edwin

Thx Edwin. And I agree with you.. learning to build our websites us a process and it does take time. We are learning all the time if we follow the lessons here at WA
Thx for your interesting posts

You’re most welcome Sharon. Always great to hear your encouraging words. Cheers! Edwin

Again, Edwin, I totally agree with you, at my age I am also a slow learner and do not remember things well, I finish my website but it's so bad that I want to eliminate it and go back to do another one, I do not know how to do that either, for that reason and to be answering the posts, I have not even finished my first course, I am desperate for not being able to continue advancing with my training, and doing everything possible to move forward, motivated to achieve my goals even if it takes me a lot More time to achieve them.
Regards!

Harald, I am also not happy with my earlier posts as they were created before I accumulated essential tips picked up in later lessons. I’ve started going back and making improvements a little at a time. Perhaps that is something you can do.

In the grand scheme of things you’ve got most of your content ahead of you. Devote more time to make them more pleasing to you.

I wish you all the best.

Edwin

I really appreciate that you share your ideas with all of us. Instead of canceling my current page, I'm going to make a new one from the beginning.
Thank you very much Edwin!

Sounds like a good plan Harald. You will make a great new page.

Edwin

I totally agree with you! There are times when I remember that im supposed to do something, but im not sure what it was I have to back. Other times, I ask a question and someone send a link of the training.
The other part is the foundation. I think this I'd critical. It's the small things that might get you.

Zikora, when I watch Kyles lesson I usually have another window opened with my WordPress back office or whatever page of mine that is in his lesson. In that way I take action mimicking what he’s doing in real time. That saved me lots of time and grief.

But I still needed to do reviews.

Thanks for responding.

Edwin

Thanks! Will do both.

I agree with you 100% to revisit the old training and webinairs, as there was so much information to digest first time.
we are bound to miss a few important steps along the way.
Regards Shane.

Shane, I love it. All the best to you. Edwin

Very helpful to get a clearer vision of it all than I had. I already registered a domain name to use for a WA site but figured I wouldn't be ready for it for a good while.

Hi Rosanna, I can relate. Thanks for your response.

Cheers!

Edwin

When you click the training tab to the left a new window opens related to the training courses. The first one is called Online Entrepreneural Certification that is associated with creating an affiliate marketing business based on your niche. The second is called Bootcamp that is based on marketing the Wealthy Affiliate Program.

Each Level in the OEC and each Phase in Bootcamp consists of 10 lessons. To complete the OEC you must complete 50 lessons. For Bootcamp, 70 lessons.

I hope this helps.

Edwin

Thank you for the informative insights Edwin. I review lessons regularly and discover that I miss things as I move forward in the training plan. I believe hat skills from learning are perishable of not used regularly and then confusion sets in and leads to frustration. taking some time to review past lessons helps to keep the skill set fresh and also helps one avoid the confusion or frustration that comes from forgetting what was learned a while ago.
I do have a few questions that popped up after reading your post. If its not too much of a burden, please try to answer these two.
1 - what is "OEC" and what is "Bootcamp"? This may seem silly but I am in the premium section at lesson 9 and frankly, I don't know what these are...hmmmnn? Did I miss something as I got into this WA raining plan/
2 - Is the OEC or Bootcamp a separate training plan that deals with revenue site generation different from what am working through in the premium training plan?

The OEC is the training program that you would currently be in. The Bootcamp training is 70 more lessons of training that you can take if you want to promote Wealthy Affiliate. It would be a website dedicated to affiliate marketing.

OK, so if I want to get into affiliate marketing with various product supplies like amazon, or a particular retailer, this is the training I must complete. Is that correct?

You need to complete the OEC to get into affiliate marketing for various products like Amazon. Bootcamp is mainly for affiliate marketing Wealthy Affliate. Principles of Affiliate Marketing are taught in both, only the emphasis being different.

Thank you so much! Awesome reply. I get it. I'll keep going and I'm glad I didn't miss something.

Edwin, it is good to know that I am not the only one that Reviews the lessons. And it first came about because of losing 3 months due to the hurricane. I had to start all over and got in the habit of going back a few days maybe a few weeks later and repeating the lesson.

Sonny

Sonny, sorry to hear you were affected by the hurricane. All the best to you!

Edwin
