Hi Folks,

When I checked my referrals list today, I was shocked to find out I had three sign-ups in one day. This has never happened before. I must be doing something right.

It was coincidental that I just had a discussion via PM with Ivan Broz. I was impressed with his WA blog, How To Create A 5 Figure Income From Scratch, link below, and wanted to discuss with Ivan a few shortcomings I have.

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/ivanbroz/blog/how-to-create-...

Three Main Lessons Learned From Ivan

Although I suspected why he has had amazing success and I had not, I wanted to get confirmation from Ivan. May I share the following three main points he gave me as I feel it can benefit other members here who may be struggling?

  1. In the same two-year span as me, Ivan wrote 480 posts compared to my 120. Writing volume does indeed work as other successful affiliate marketers have demonstrated.
  2. He focused on the WA affiliated program to sign on referrals to the exclusion of everything else. Unlike Ivan, I have not been focused.
  3. Ivan used lessons learned in the Bootcamp training to build his business. After being in WA for two and a half years I am only halfway through the Bootcamp training. This means I have not benefited from all the lessons taught.

Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda

Even though I have fallen short in my training, activities, and focus, I have still got results. I can only imagine what my results could have been if I could have duplicated the approach taken by Ivan. Maybe that's what I should do now.

Ivan had decided on a goal right from the time he joined WA. He stayed focused and applied massive action. These main steps are the fundamentals for success. Simple, but not easy. It does take a lot of hard work, and being consistent. Writing a lot can also be boring. Since we joined WA, we were aware that blogging is the way to succeed.

You Don't Have To Work Hard Forever

The good news from Ivan is that he now outsources his writing and is focusing on improving old posts. To achieve success does not mean working hard forever. This business does provide residual income if we do it right.

There is a strange phenomenon though. Success provides the fuel to work even harder! At that point, we work hard not because we have to. But because we want to.

We can earn the resources to help fund activities to scale up our business. In other words, we can afford to build a team. As the saying goes, teamwork makes the dream work.

The Way Forward - Tweaking My Actions

What do I do now that I have received this invaluable feedback from Ivan?

Complete Bootcamp and implement the lessons taught.

Stay focused on writing at least three posts a week. This is the tough one.

Add to my WA referral marketing messages to create a stream that keeps on sending messages at strategic intervals. Plus, offering a helping hand to my referrals.

That will be my way forward to a five-figure income and beyond.

Does This Make Sense To You?

The lessons learned can be applied to any affiliate niche. The overriding message is to keep it simple, stay focused, and work hard. Do not get distracted by other strategies as that will dilute your efforts and adversely affect your prospects for success.

Have you worked hard doing the right things and NOT ACHIEVED the results you expected over time?

Have you worked hard doing the right things and ACHIEVED the results you expected?

Or, have you fallen somewhere in between?

Working our business is a journey. There is always time to tweak what we are doing to move us in the right direction.

I'd love to hear your comments below.

Cheers!

Edwin

this is a great reminder that many of us needed thanks edwin, very much appreciated!

It's funny how people like me are still constantly asking myself 'how DO i make this thing really work for me?" when at the same time, all these legends who are killing it, just keep telling us all the same thing over and over-write, write, create and write some more!

I too will definitely be trying harder to carve out time to start producing some decent quantities of content for a change!

Thanks for sharing.

Hi Matty,

I think I found the problem. It is hard to believe that doing something so simple and repetitive can give amazing results. We are taught throughout our lives that we need to master difficult things to succeed. The secret answer is we need to master doing the simple things to succeed! Of course, mastering difficult things does work too. But it will expose us to making more mistakes along the way and take longer.

Thanks for commenting. All the best to you.

Edwin

That's so true!

And yes, as humans I think we definitely just cant help ourselves thinking the HARD way is always the 'best' way-but definitely true, better to be AWESOME at one or two simple things, than be crap, or average at a whole range of things-which is about where I'm at these days lol........

I'll definitely be keeping posts like this in mind to push past & remember the important stuff, thanks.

All the best!

I wondered where you disappeared to Edwin.
I'm very pleased to hear that you are moving in the right direction again.
I think of you quite often whenever I am indulging in trading forex.
I know you have devoted a great amount of time here and your time as an ambassador is exceptional.
I hope I'm reading about your 5 or 6 figure income quite soon.
Ivan's work is exceptional and to be admired as well as his advice.
Your friend,
Steve

Great to hear from you Steven. I’m still a student of Forex Trading. I’ve had excellent results with strings of 100 trades. Then when uncertainty sets in I start loosing. It’s like a roller coaster. I control risk management by only using 0.01 lots per trade. I have to be disciplined on when not to trade.

Glad to say my progress in affiliate marketing is doing better. Thanks for your good wishes.

All the best to you.

Edwin

Congratulations, once again, Edwin! Just stick to the blueprint and you'll celebrate more and more referrals and sales in the future.

I notice that you're not sure about whether or not you can accomplish 3 review posts per week. My advice is to create some sort of template. Use this template for every review post. After 10-20 reviews, you will become faster and faster.

Also, here are a few more tips to help you speed up the process. Keep moving forward, my friend, and best of luck!

Hello Ivan,

Thanks for this link. When I read your post, it was like going down memory lane.

Currently, I am focusing on writing content for MLM companies. I have created an outline that has come in very handy. It is the content and keyword research that I have strayed. It is time to make a correction using the tips you provided.

I sure appreciate your guidance.

Cheers.

Edwin

Thanks a lot Edwin, for this timely admonition and encouragement. I have learned some valuable lessons from your post and can relate with some distractions.
I am reminded of a saying i heard which goes something like this,
“We don’t attend training because we got money, but we make money because we attend training.”

Congratulations with your referrals and wishing you all success in your 5-figure income.

Regards,

Welcome

Hi Welcome,

I’m so happy that my post resonated with you and you had a good takeaway. I love your training and making money analogy. So true.

I wish you continued success.

Edwin

Congratulations on 3 referrals. I'm working hard to get to 400 posts as that seems the magic number for the MMO niche that I'm in. I do my best to write 1 post a day and I don't always succeed. So far in nearly 10 months, there are 270 posts written so by the end of December I should have around 360. Not quite reaching my goal but very close to it!

Not quite there, but hey well over half way Lisa

Yes indeed Dave I will get there by end of January for sure if not before:-)

Well done and nice one. I'm not that far behind you. Currently at 199

I’ll be following your lead Lisa. If I can maintain 3 posts weekly I think I’ll be going in the right direction.

Since I’m currently focused on MLM reviews, I’m using a template that helps. Wikipedia is great to get my list of MLMs as well as info on the companies.

I wish you a speedy reach to your 400 posts.

Cheers.

Edwin

thanks very much, Edwin I will get there if it kills me I'm that determined :-)

You are doing great Dave I will meet you at the top for sure :-)

Well done Edwin
