Once Upon A Time In WA WA Land Magic Happened!
(General Note. I deliberartely used complete URL's instead ot the Link tool for easy reference)
Once upon a time there was a man in his 40’s named Lachlan. He and his wife Louise had three beautiful kids. Logan the eldest was 16. Leonie their daughter was 12. The youngest Liam was 9. They had bought a modest home a few years ago. The children were doing well in school and had many friends. Lachlan and Louise enjoyed taking their children to their various activities. Life was wonderful.
Then a problem occurred. Louise lost her job. No problem. She would look for another.
Weeks and months passed and she couldn’t find a new job. The country was in a recession and hiring was way down. Lachlan and Louise talked it over and they decided Louise would stay at home to spend more time with their kids. The family would tighten its belt and they’d live on Lachlan’s income.
Easier said than done. The children were involved in activities that needed money. For registration fees, gas expenses and things like sports equipment costs. There was no other choice but to level with their children and ask if they could cut down on these extra-curricular activities.
Logan and Leonie didn’t like it but they agreed to go along. Liam the 9-year old wasn’t so agreeable and started to cry. He was so looking forward to summer camp.
Logan mentioned to his dad that some of his friends parents were making money online. If mom had to stay at home, why not look into this?
Lachlan and Louise decided to explore what this online world had to offer. Many years ago they tried Network Marketing, and that didn’t work out for them. But then, Network Marketing required them to spend a lot of time recruiting family and friends, taking prospects to meetings and training their recruits to duplicate what they were doing. The commissions they made didn’t match the effort they applied.
What if there were businesses they could do completely online. Like work from home. That would be perfect. But what?
Oh they found a lot of so called opportunities. Somehow paying $4995 for a system that would make them a millionaire while they sleep seemed suspect. Others cost only $39.99 to join. When they looked at the fine print after the one-month trial period was over, their credit card would be billed $299 every month. Unless they canceled before the trial period was up.
They eventually came across a website called Affiliate Marketing For Leaders. Affiliate Marketing, what was that? The article they were reading explained what it was in language Lachlan and Louise could understand.
The concept of marketing products they didn’t need to own, collect payment, ship or guarantee and still get paid a commission seemed amazing! There was no overhead. Sounded too good to be true. Skepticism set in.
At the end of the article a company called Wealthy Affiliate was introduced to them. This company provided everything they needed to build an Affiliate Marketing business. Including top-notch training and tools. Then something caught their attention.
They could register using only an Email address and try it out for free as long as they wished. No credit card required! What had they got to lose? Louise decided to sign up.
The journey into Affiliate Marketing began. Kyle's introduction to Affiliate Marketing via the link below explains it very well:
One of the first elements of the training was to select a niche. Louise found there was a wealth of information on Wealthy Affiliate on how to select a Niche. Since she had become a Stay at Home mom she decided to make that her Niche!
There were so many problems and needs that a stay at home mom has, Louise was sure she could find affiliate solutions to help other moms.
Kyle explained what a niche is, and how to select one that's just right for you via the link below:
Wealthy Affiliate also had a super Affiliate Programs tool.
Carson launched the new Affiliate Programs Tool on the left side menu via the following link:
Louise thought it would be a lot of fun using it to create the product range for her Stay at Home mom business. She did. The next step was to get on with building her website.
Jay had held a webinar about Affiliate Promotions that was helpful:
Website Building Tools
Wealthy Affiliate has excellent site building tools Louise could access from the WEBSITE tab on the left margin. Clicking this led to other tabs. I have included training links under each of the Website Functions below. They are given by Kyle, Carson as well as Wealthy Affiliate members. After being a member for three months you are granted authorization to create helpful training for fellow members. You earn $5 for each training in cash credits!
I am sure that Louise must be very happy she has access to these training modules that takes the guesswork out of the equation.
SITE DOMAIN - where she could buy her own unique domain name.
SITE BUILDER - the place to set up her website using WordPress.
SITE CONTENT - Louise found the content editor where she could create her articles before moving them to WordPress.
SITE MANAGER - This area was where Louise could manage her website.
SITE COMMENTS - Louise loved the idea of requesting comments for her posts
SITE FEEDBACK - Louise could also request for critical advice to make improvements
Training for both Site Feedback and Site Comments are via the links below:
SITE SUPPORT - Problems with the Website? No problem. Contact Site Support 24/7.
Website Hosting and Backup
Louise had peace of mind that she could upload her site to the highly secure Wealthy Affiliate hosting platform. Automatic backup was included as well as the option of personal manual backup.
Some benefits include SEO, site health monitoring and reporting, easy login to WordPress Dashboard to manage website and many more.
Wealthy Affiliate offers systematic training for all these functions. Plus a lot more!
Kyle goes into more detail on this subject via the following link:
Louise learned through the training there are two main ways to attractive website traffic. One is by using Pay Per Click and paid ads. The other is organically. Meaning FREE. After her website starts to generate income, that would be the time to invest some of that money to pay for ads. This is the time to focus on scaling up traffic.
Writing content to generate traffic is an amazing skill Louise learned at Wealthy Affiliate. This is a multi pronged process that factors in Search Engine Optimization.
Kyle teaches how to use content and keywords to build traffic via the following link:
There is power to be gained in learning how to use online tools to monitor and optimize a website. Louise was taught all about Google Search Console and Google Analytics. The next largest search engine is Bing. While being taught about Search Console, Louise was exposed to the power of Bing Webmaster Tools. This is also applicable to Yahoo.
Another frequently used online tool is the Jaaxy Keyword Research Engine. A lighter but full featured version is available on Wealthy Affiliate as part of the subscription. I have a feeling Louise enjoyed using Jaaxy especially when she learned how to pick Keywords that helped her articles to rank on the first pages of Google, Bing and Yahoo.
Webinar by Jay on using Jaaxy:
I am certain when Lachlan and Louise are looking for solutions to a problem, or a product to buy, their preference is to use their mobile device. Most likely their smart phone. It is crucial that Louise’s website works just as well on a mobile device as on a desktop computer.
The majority of the web design themes available on WordPress works on mobile too. Wealthy Affiliate Site Manager lets her know if there are any issues that need attention. Google Search Console can verify these results.

Webinar on Google Analytics by Jay:
Louise came up with a website title called Moms for Moms. Being a busy mom she had an endless slew of ideas for posts. She was able to write about three articles weekly. As she went through the Online Entrepreneur Certification course, Louise acquired more tips on writing content that attracts growing traffic. She even got her family to help with ideas.
As with everything else, Wealthy Affiliate offers training lessons and courses in writing content that engages. In fact shortly after Louise upgraded to Premium, Jay was giving a series of Webinars focusing on content creation that converts into sales. Louise registered in a heartbeat. She got results!
You can get clued in to the webinar on How To Write Content That Converts:
First Sale - Like Magic
It wasn't long that Louise improved her website content using the new skills she had learned. Her posts were getting indexed faster and few were ranked higher on the search engines.
Suddenly she got her first sale! It was MAGIC! This happened about six months into joining Wealthy Affiliate. Louise maintained her focus on writing content.
Louise especially enjoyed the live webinars by Jay. They were scheduled once a week on Friday evening 5 pm Pacific Time and lasted typically 90 minutes that included a live Q & A session at the end.
Since these were archived she had access to in depth training that could accommodate her schedule.
Soon more sales started to filter in. After 9 months she hit that magic 100 post number! More magic happened! Until then her progress was slow. Suddenly Google Analytics showed a sharp rise in traffic. It looked like Google had finally placed her in that Authority category!
Writing reviews is one option Louise used for blogs. Kyle talks on unique ways to monetize reviews:
Now was the time to invest some of her income in PPC ads. She had completed her OEC training and was well into the Affiliate Bootcamp course. One of the lessons was about PPC and paid ads. It was time to use this to scale up!
Her husband Lachlan and their kids, Logan, Leonie and Liam were impressed. What they were most happy about was she was earning enough to pay for their extracurricular activities. This reduced the burden on Lachlan that made him happy too!
It took a year for Louise to get this far. She expects that in another year her income will exceed what she used to earn in her day job that she was laid off from.
The sweet thing about her affiliate marketing business is she spends less than 4 hours a day at it. Plus Louise can pick and choose the time of day that works best for her. She can even keep track of her business anywhere she can have online access using her smart phone or tablet. I know of some successful affiliate marketers who spend an hour or so on a beach working their business if need be!
Not bad eh!
My Content Recovery Plan - Add 36 More Posts
There will be three areas that I will be using to create content to catch up to the number of posts I need to have as part of the Super Affiliate Challenge. My website has 38 posts. At the five-month mark that ends on November 15th I should have 60 posts completed. The next month after that will have 12 more posts added. Hence, the total number of posts I must aim for is 72. My goal is to work on the difference of 34 posts. I added two more to make it 36.
Affiliate Marketing Story - 12 Posts
But first, what did you think of the Affiliate Marketing story I spun? I used that format to highlight key elements about building an Affiliate Marketing business via the Wealthy Affiliate Platform. Hence, I used links that provided details on the How To's of these sections. It had 12 sections. I will create one post per section. If I can expand this to more posts I will. But my plan is based on 12 posts.
Every direct link above has an associated Affiliate Link that I can insert into my website blogs. When a person reading my blog clicks the Affiliate Link, they will be taken to my sign up for free landing page. It is only after they register, the starter members will have access to these links which will be active for only one week. If they wish to continue to access these links, the starter members will have to become Premium Members.
I will explain that process after they sign up for free.
Parallel Facebook Posts For Traffic Generation
I will be setting up a dedicated Facebook page where I will write brief intros to each of these new website posts. At the end of my Facebook entry I shall include a link to my corresponding website blog post. I believe that Facebook allows that. I had got into trouble before when I used Wealthy Affiliate affiliate links in Facebook. My defunct business site got unpublished. This is a mistake I hope to avoid this time around.
The frequency of these blog posts will be three per week to meet the SAC schedule.
Month 5 Masterful Marketing - 12 Posts
The SAC Month 5 training is on Masterful Marketing. The object is to find a range of target markets where we can learn to understand customers and influence people. The goal was to write 12 posts using these guidelines. This is the link to the lesson:
I feel that any member can use the lessons taught here to expand their business. Although Kyle created this for the Super Affiliate Challenge, I thought it could be helpful to others who have adopted the Make Money Online niche.
SAC Month 6 - 12 Posts
Kyle will be rolling out the training for Month 6 after November 15th. I do not know what will be the basis for the posts we will need to write about yet. Hence, this is something that I will have to wait for.
In the meantime I have 5 days left in Month 5. I better get cracking to write more articles.
I have charted a rigorous plan to follow. Having created in essence an outline here, I will be better equipped to move forward to catch up with my Super Affiliate Challenge post count.
I have one request. I'd love some feedback on this recovery plan in the comments below.
After each published blog I will be requesting feedback and site comments too. If you happen to get a matching site comments in your inbox, I'd love for you to write comments there too.
Thank you for reading this lengthy blog. And also for your comments below.
I wish you much success in your affiliate marketing journey.
