My Black Friday Promotion Strategy On Facebook - Will it Work?

Hey Guys, I am so excited about moving forward with this Facebook Black Friday Campaign blindly. I have no time to create Mailing Lists so I had to find alternatives.

My first tack was to create a Black Friday Post on my Affiliate website. My second tack was to make my peace with Facebook and create a new business page. My last one got unpublished because I didn't follow their rules. They never told me what rule I broke but I feel it was placing affiliate links from Wealthy Affiliate directly on my business page posts. I misunderstood the lesson at WA that had a task to paste one's posts on FB.

Facebook Business Page

This time around I am using my FB business page to write a blog and add links to my website. When I first added my links, instead of pictures from my website appearing, I saw a large gray outline of a person that preceded my link. At first, I thought this was FB punishing me ha-ha!

My mind began to churn and I thought maybe I was missing something here. So I Googled how to have a picture from my website blog get automatically placed on my blog link on FB. WOW I found out that there was a way. I had to take action on the Social Media section on my WordPress dashboard.

I followed the instructions as best as I could and added a blog link on my Facebook post. And VOILA! as my website info appeared, so did a pic from my blog next to it. See what I mean below:

I also had created a pinned post that introduces visitors to Affiliate Marketing where I added a link to my website at the end of my FB Blog Post. No direct affiliate links used.

Another post I created was to promote the Black Friday Sale where I added the link to the corresponding post on my website. What the heck I thought, why don't I promote this sale using paid ads. FB gave me a $5 coupon that I used to BOOST this post for a total of $10. It would run for 10 days at $1 a day. This was perfect as it would end on November 30th!

After I did this I noticed that FB had positioned an events' promotion window right at the top of my posts. This was something I had seen before and thought it was annoying. BUT, what if I used that to promote the Black Friday Sale? This would stay at the top right above my pinned post. So I created an event. Here is a screenshot of this entry:

Note that the tickets link goes to my Black Friday promotion link on Wealthy Affiliate. This could be construed by Facebook as breaking a rule. But this time around I am actually a paying customer So we shall see. If they decide to unpublish me again, I will be done using this strategy and only use FB to communicate with like-minded members in business groups

Stats

One of the advantages of paying for ads on Facebook is they provide a running stats page that shows how many people saw you page and how many clicked your links.

In addition you also get to see how many people clicked your post. And off course I have requested comments.

This is a learning process and I am doing first BEFORE going through the courses on Weathy Affiliate. If November 29th wasn't so close I would have done this in reverse. So it is like shoot first and ask questions later.

The Outcome

Clearly I have no idea what the outcome is going to be. One thing is for sure. By not being as active on WA I was able to focus more on my business and step out of my comfort zone to try new things.

If this works, perhaps I will write a Blog on it in December. And if it doesn't, I won't ha-ha!

I am writing more website posts including reviews of affiliate holding companies like Clickbank, CJ Affiliate etc. In this way perhaps I will have to do research and maybe become affiliates that I can use on my website to promote other products that are related to business.

Closing Thoughts

I didn't expect to be writing a post on WA so soon. However, I felt this was something that other members may be interested in knowing. This may be common knowledge to others, but it's all new to me.
