Life Is Too Short - We Must Make The Most Of It

I write this with a heavy heart. Today I received messages of two wonderful people in my life who passed away. When a death occurs, it is always a time for reflection.

The Chaplain

The first message I received was our Chaplain of our Knights of Columbus Council passed away due to cancer. About two months ago he announced his condition at one of our meetings and said he would be returning to Boston to be close to his family while he still had his faculties. At that time he was told he had about four months to live.

Earlier today I got an Email announcing Father Jack, passed away. The moment was just shy of that four months. Fortunately he made the decision he did so that he could be close to family for the end of his life.

An Old Friend

Then about an hour ago, I received another message that a childhood friend in England passed away because of cardiac arrest. We were school friends in London. Fred was a HiFi nut and introduced me to the wonders of listening to music rendered in high quality. Those were the days of vinyl records. I shall always remember the incredible HiFi stereo system he put together. The record player was the most impressive mechanical contraption I had come across at that time.

Sadly we lost touch over the years because of geographical separation as well as Fred not being a fan of Internet communication. But the memories I have will live in my mind until I don't have one.

Family & Friends

We all have people in our lives who have influenced us positively in some way. It is a good idea to let them know while we have the opportunity to do so.

Our daily lives absorb us so much doing a myriad of things that before we know it chunks of time seem to vanish.

As negative as my message began, I don't want it to end that way.

We have a lot to be grateful for and enjoy life. Being involved with this amazing community all working towards a common goal to realize our dreams is something to be cherished. When I see how we all support and cheer each other onward in our online development journey the feeling I get is indescribable.

Celebration

Celebrating each others goals, aspirations and talents in this amazing platform is a gift we are fortunate to have in our lives.

Earlier today when attending Jay's introduction to Pinterest at the live webinar, I felt the atmosphere was charged with high energy. We were all like sponges soaking up valuable information that will have a positive impact in our lives.

I began to think of a recent theme I discussed, leverage. We have the opportunity to enhance the lives of so many through our affiliate marketing business through our websites. Isn't that simply amazing?

While doing the Home Work Jay assigned to create 10 boards of different but related topics in our niche and to fill each with 5 pins created by other people outside of Wealthy Affiliate, I had the opportunity to see how others were doing precisely that. Using their creativity through leverage to connect with others.

Rather than only adding pins I decided to click through to some of the blogs. I found myself midst an explosion of ideas. That was one of the take away thoughts Jay had communicated to us.

The Power To Influence Others

It was driven home that we have in our power something so powerful to influence others that we must use it wisely. Being able to use our knowledge and research to share valuable information to help others is what this all is about.

We have to put ourselves in the minds of our readers to know what their problems and points of pain are and do whatever we can to ease that pain and solve those problems they have.

When we do that well, we succeed in influencing a growing group of people one individual at a time. The more people we are able to help will have a direct influence on the quality of our lives. Because in the process we are also influenced by so many others who have come into our lives.

With that thought, let's make the best use of our time while we have time on our side.

I sincerely appreciate the connections I have and continue to make on Wealthy Affiliate.

I wish all of you a long, happy and fulfilled life .

Cheers!

Edwin

Very well put, Edwin. Time just keeps on, no matter what, and it's important to make it count. So sorry for your losses. I could hear the fondness in your tone as you wrote.

I could also hear your willingness to accept life on life's terms, though be it tough, we must move forward. I admire your positive attitude and courage.

Stay well, my friend.

Thanks for your perceptive comments Ger. Life goes on. All the best to you.

I am so sorry to hear about your losses. It is always hard to accept a loss.
You are so accurate in your thoughts that we need to acknowledge the people that are dear to us more often and express our love and appreciation for them regularly.
We never know when it will end.
Thinking of you at this difficult time!

Hi Edwin,

My deepest sympathy for the passing of your chaplain and your childhood friend!

In the midst of life there is death. It is an inevitable end that will come when it will come. However, no matter how and when it comes, those who are alive are not ready nor prepared for it. We are always left in wonder.

However, while we are still alive , we should make the best use of our time and your rightly said that we here at WA have the ability to influence and help so many and in so doing we will be influenced as well.

Thanks for sharing your story with us! Wishing you the very best!

Kind regards,
Nichola

Edwin a very poignant post. I deal with my own losses by remembering everything good that there was in the person I lost, and then moving forward realizing that I am still in this game called life and I will continue living it in their honor! Keep your chin up and keep moving forward and please accept my sincere condolences!

Great sentiments indeed Jeff. We might as well stay positive. Thanks for your kind support.

Edwin

You're very welcome, Edwin!
