I Spent Some Of My WA Cash Credits Today!

It has been a while since I purchased new domains. Since I had accumulated cash credits in my Wealthy Affiliate account I got the urge to spend some of it. I challenged myself to create a couple of interesting dot com domain names that would be available. Unlike past ones, I wanted to think out of the box for these.

I came up with the following two and purchased them for $13.99 each.

What Niches That Is The Question

I'm not sure what kind of niches I will use for these new websites. These are so broad but I intend to make sure the niches I end up with will be very narrow. I will start with just one to begin with. Whatever I end up using it will have to be a topic I am really passionate about.

Please tell me what you think about these domain names, as well as what niches you suggest I should go for. I am thinking about something in the digital category. Let your imagination run wild. Perhaps products that cost above $250. Better yet, something that is like a subscription. But not WA as my existing website focuses on that.

Something Tim McKinlay Said Hit Home

In one of Tims's recent classes on WA he stated that out of all your posts only a handful end up becoming winners. The problem is we cannot predict which ones these will be. That is a huge reason to writs hundreds of posts in order to discover which ones are the winners.

Does that make sense to you? It did to me. Therefore, I am not going to abandon my existing website. I'll continue to write posts for that.

In addition, I will be writing posts for my new website. Perhaps at a higher rate. I have learned a thing or two from some successful WA members on how they structure their posts to be of value to visitors.

Frankly I was really shocked that these domains were available. Perhaps they will become virtual investments. Who knows what the value of these domain names will be in the years to come.

My Immediate Surprise

Since taking a break from Wealthy Affiliate I have been analyzing my website that has over 100 posts in it. I was really surprised that the posts that got the most clicks were ones that reviewed MLM companies. And in particular, a health and wellness one that I was once an associate of.

Sad to say that all the others, especially the ones promoting Wealtjy Affiliate and other MMO opportunities got zero clicks.

There is a saying that when you keep doing the same thing over and over again and expect different results, that is madness. The encouraging point is I could see an upward trend. I will continue to write posts for this website but I feel I need to make a fresh start with something new.

Using Lessons Learned In Wealthy Affiiate

I have learned so much that it will be refreshing to put this into action in my new website. For example, I will be using the Generate Press theme. And I will stick with maintaining my Home page as my Blog page. The other main thing is not to worry so much about images and focus more on the content. And of course, creating winning keywords and writing content focused on them.

This will be a great time to introduce the Email Marketing process from the start. Even though this will be a new site, I feel it's important to start getting those contacts early. It will be fun developing a digital freebie.

It's time to get into action!

Cheers everyone. Until I get back here again.

Edwin

Hi Edwin, This is my first time to hear that domain names' value can be up in the future like Cryptos or Bitcoin you mentioned on September 10. Honestly to me, name of those domains are wired. My understanding is: domain name should be the same as website title. Once someone advised me that I should get domain name "tomoko.com" but I thought it was funny. Am I wrong? Please advise me. You should get niche which going to be popular in the future but I have no idea which one will be.
Thank you.
Tomoko

Hi Tomoko,

Thanks for your comments. Perhaps I can answer your question why I came up with the domain names like I did. Can I ask you a question?

When was it you first head the name Google? If you didn't know it was a search engine what would have come to mind? Same with Yahoo. And Bing.

One of our members has named his Make Money Online website One More Cup Of Coffee. He is one of the highest earners here. His name is Nathaniell.

You can do this either way. My main website is called Affiliate Marketing For Leaders. I wanted to have some fun doing something weird!

The one that says Why Do This will probably make visitors think why do they do things the way they do. And then encourage them to think of a better way using innovative solutions I will suggest. This could cover any niche that I want to choose because it is do broad.

The other one Choc Full Of Secrets will show visitors secrets on how to solve problems again, in any niche I choose.

Remember when people are searching for a solution, it is the post that Google will send them to based on the Keyword. Once they land there they will read the brief description of the post and decide if it is worth checking it out.

It all comes down to branding. Many very successful affiliate marketers use their name. Hence, you could have a domain based on your name. I do own the domain edwinbernard.com that I will use in the future after I become good with attracting traffic and getting more clicks. I will be in a better position to brand my name with whatever niche I decide to attach to that.

Does this make any sense? And if it doesn't, don't worry. The important thing is to have fun trying something new.

All the best to you.

Edwin

A very comprehensive and sensible explanation, Edwin.

Thank you.
Cassi

Hi Edwin, thank you for your explanation. I think it was somewhere in the early part of 2000, and I did not know what was Google and even did not pay any attention at that time, but some point, I learned how to use search engines. I am surprised to hear the name, One More Cup of Coffee for MM niche? But now I have learned that uniqueness is a key of success. That's why, your brand is important.
Tomoko

Yes, indeed.

You're very welcome Cassi. I now await my newest purchase, The new Apple M1 Mac Mini. At $669 from Amazon ($733 after tax and free shipping) it is more powerful than computers costing 5 times. The reason is it used the first new Apple System On A Chip (SoC) that nobody else, including Intel or AMD has.

The buzz on the Internet about the three new M1 based computers Apple just introduced, The 13" Mac Book Air, 13" Mac Book Pro and Desktop Mac Mini is palpable. The M1 Mac Mini is the most affordable computer available for video editing today.

I think you can see why I am getting it, To start creating videos for\ my YouTube Channel.

For information sake I suggest you check out the reviews on these by Affiliate Marketers. I may do a review once I start using it too. But I don't have any high powered video software so I may need to get that.

Cheers.

Edwin

Very novel strategy to pick a domain first ahead of your niche. The WAG (Wealthy Affiliate Gods) might have something to say about it. But having learnt that the domain name is not as important as keywords, sitemap etc I guess if you can make your niche fit go for it.

Hugh

Some good advice Hugh. Thanks for your comments. All the best to you.;

Edwin

I like your domain names, even if they are not niche specific. I wish you well with them.

Hi Diane,

Thanks for commenting. Since they are not niche specific I have the freedom to go in any direction I want to. I have noticed that many successful affiliate marketers have selected website names that transmit a feeling rather than their niche. Like Nathaniell's MMO Site called One More Cup Of Coffee.

I wish you much success in your affiliate marketing journey.

Edwin

Yes, I agree, Edwin. Sometimes those that are not niche specific are more memorable, too.

Enjoy your weekend!

Good move, but I thought the name needed to give the reader a good idea of what the site was about.

Hi Geoffrey,

When people do a search it is the content of the post that Google links them to. For example, Nathaniell has a MMO site named One More Cup Of Coffee. I feel that there is no right or wrong way to name a website.

I have no idea where this will lead. The journey will be fun and interesting.

Thanks for commenting. I truly appreciate it.

Edwin

Yes that's true. Have a good weekend

Great post Edwin. Good to see you back... great choices for domains.
Joe

Hi Joe,

Thanks for the welcome back. I will make appearances occasionally. Not as much as before. When you notice I am absent in commenting on yours and other members posts it is a natural result of not visiting WA regularly. I am watching my rank descend and that is OK with me.

My goal is to earn so many referrals in time that will get me back up the ranks automatically.

All the best to you.

Edwin

Smart move Edwin. Rank is fickle!
