You may wonder why have I got a ShareASale graphic in the picture below. Hint - It is connected with the Affiliate Bang subscript of my title.

Before I explain what this is all about, let me wish each and every one here a

Very Happy New Year and a Fantastic new DECADE!

In many of my posts recently as well as in responses within the forums, I talked about how we all need to pay particular attention to how we use SEO on page and off page.

Translation for those who are not familiar with these terms,

ON PAGE refers to how you write your article using internal and external links, As well as the use of the title Keyword.

OFF PAGE are things you do after you write your article such as the metadata, image tags and other processes within WordPress. The use of Social Media and Video also factors into this equation.

Earlier in 2019 Jay Neil gave a wonderful webinar on this very topic, the link which is below:

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/the-2019-seo-checklist

It has taken me a long time for those lessons to sink in, but I feel at the end of 2019 they finally did.

OK the ShareASale Story

I just published a new Blog Post for my website entitled

Join ShareASale Affiliate Program And Make Money

If you entered this phrase into Jaaxy the results would be <10 for all categories. However, this phrase contained the main keyword I had in mind:

Keyword

ShareASale Affiliate Program.

This had the following results:

Average Monthly Searches: 242 (Recommended being over 100)

Visits per month if ranked on first page: 42 (Recommended being over 50)

Competing websites for this exact keyword: 139 (Recommended to be under 200)

However, we have been taught that as long as we do not change the keywords in our URL, which in this case is shareasale-affiliate-program, we can add to the title of the article to make it more compelling. I felt that the title, Join ShareASale Affiliate Program And Make Money would attract more attention if it was seen on page one.

Kyle has also cautioned us not to let spending too much time on choosing the best Keyword delay and stifle our content. After all, the objective is to provide valuable information to our visitors. The objective is to attract their attention, engage them with valuable information and expect they will take action.

Since my website is based on promoting the benefits of the Wealrhy Affiliate platform and training, my call to action was to click the link to my major review on Wealthy Affiliate that has ranked on Page 1 of all the search engines since I originally posted it. It is in this article where the call to action is to join Weathy Affiliate by clicking my affiliate banner as well as affiliate links in appropriate places.

There was a time when I peppered every article with my Wealthy Affiliate link, No more. I went back and edited all my articles to replace my Wealthy Affiliate link with links to my Wealthy Affiliate review.

Kyle teaches this in the Online Entrepreneur Certification. Shame on me for listening to others instead of to him.

Use of ON Page SEO

Of course, the challenge is to rank on page 1. This is where the writing of the content comes in. The length of my article was 2339 words. I used a lot of pictures from the ShareASale website to illustrate the points I made.

There were external links to authority websites like Wikipedia about ShareASale. And I use internal links to my Wealthy Affiliate Review.

Since ShareASale has an affiliate program of its own, I only used ONEEEEE affiliate link at the end.

This was like a tutorial about how to join ShareASale, how it worked, and the ways to make money by selecting judiciously from the almost 4000 merchants they are currently carrying.

I followed everything what Jay had taught except I didn't incorporate any videos, This is one of my goals in 2020.

I feel very proud of what I wrote and submitted the post for Site Comments. Now I await these responses.

Use of OFF Page SEO

Going through the WordPress editing section for my article I once again followed what areas Jay had taught to complete, such as the metadata, SEO titles, descriptions and keywords, adding a featured image, tagging images etc.

You can find all this out in detail via the webinar link I provided earlier.

Closing Thoughts

I feel by maximizing the SEO process for this article I am ending 2019 with an AFFILIATE BANG!

If anyone wishes to read my article, you can find it through my Profile page. For newbies, in case you do not know this, we are not allowed to place links to our business or social media websites in our posts or anywhere else within Wealthy Affiliate except on our profile page.

The reason is simple. This is not a platform to promote our businesses to each other.

I feel this post on my website reviewing ShareASale is the exclamation point to a wonderful year I have had at Wealthy Affiliate.

Kyle and Carson, I thank you sincerely for your vision and what you have provided for us to create our own online businesses.

Many thanks also to Jay Neil who has dedicated himself to train us in his weekly live webinars as our Wealthy Affiliate Live Coach. He takes what we are taught in the formal training to new depths to help us understand what is important in order to succeed.

So Kyle, Carson and Jay, I end 2019 wishing all of you a Very Happy New Year.

Edwin,

Great, informative post, I will Gold Mark this and will definitely checkout Jay’s webinar. I do find them a little long when I am not live watching. But they are worth the hour for sure.

I look forward to hearing your progress for 2020, but more than anything I am looking to learning from your experience. Cracker of a post thank you

👍

Thanks for dropping by. Delighted that you liked my post too and can takeaway something of value from it.

The advantage of watching the webinars live is one can ask questions and also listen to the answers given to questions of others. The disadvantage is this takes almost 90 minutes. When you watch the archives, you can fast forward the usual long intro and other areas that are not what you are interested in. Overall these webinars are gold mines.

I also wish you much success in 2020.

Cheers!

Edwin

You are right about the webinars, it is on my 2020 goal list. I always always take a nugget or two from each and every one.

I hope you have a serene and prosperous new year 👍

Happy New Year Edwin! What a great post, so much useful information. I especially like how you went back to make edits in your work after realizing there was a better more effective way, kind of your own remodel! Thanks for sharing with us!

Happy New Year! 👍🏻👍🏻🎉🎉

Gerry

Hi Gerry,

Glad to see you here. I learned about "remodeling" ones old posts on one of Jay's Friday webinars. The beauty of that is you can resubmit it for Indexing. It is like starting fresh.

I wish you much success in 2020.

Edwin

Point well taken...Thanks!

To A Successful and Wealthy 2020 for you and yours!!

Happy New Year!

Edwin great information in your post. Thanks for the link to Jay's SEO check list. I have noticed very few WA members view Jay's training. Shame.

I agree David. There are the archives that I hope many more members check out. It's a goldmine of relevant information.
Happy New Year to you too.
