Happy Father's Day To All The Dads Here And Happy Juneteenth Too!
I wish all the Fathers on Wealthy Affiliate a Happy Father's Day. If you are celebrating it like in the US.
Father's Day turned out to be a balmy sunny day in LA. When I took this pic from an upstairs window in the afternoon, the temperature was 78F (25.5C). I just returned from a Fathers Day lunch at the Red Lobster.
Son Michael lives in Utah and could not be here. I found a nice pic of the two of us below taken in 2006. A great deal has happened since then. He is married now with 3 kids 2, 8, and 10.
One of the reasons why I want my affiliate marketing business to succeed beyond my wildest dreams is to leave a legacy for Michael and his kids.
Today also happened to be a new National Holiday, Juneteenth. Since June 19th falls on a Sunday, tomorrow will be the carry-over holiday.
For those who do not know, it took two years for the Lincoln emancipation proclamation that slavery was abolished to reach the state of Texas, the final state to do so. One way to look at this day is Black Independence Day.
Celebrations
Celebrations have been taking place all over the US this weekend. In about an hour, 5 pm LA time, a big bash will be happening at the Hollywood Bowl. This is an all-Black celebrity concert, accompanied by an all-Black Symphony Orchestra with a Black Conductor. It is being telecast by CNN and is billed as a Global Celebration. If you can watch it where you live, I highly recommend it. I will be.
