Fires Swept Our Street
The hills are alive with the flames of fire. The flames spread to growth all around our homes. We had to evacuate minutes after taking this picture from our bedroom window.
We grabbed our three dogs and rushed to our car. Sadly we had to leave our four cats as they were hiding and we had no time to search for them.
It will be later tomorrow morning before we can return to our home. Since the fire trucks got to our street in time I’m hopeful our homes will be saved. But our gardens will probably have suffered damage.
At least we are parked safely looking at the flames ebb and flow depending on the wind.
I shall be giving WA a break until this crisis is over.
You can get details about our fire as it’s called The Saddle Ridge Fire.

I truly appreciate your kind thoughts. We’re in an evacuation center so it’s not all bad.
Cheers.

Edwin,
Our thoughts are with you, your family, pets and neighbours. I had a look at the news, absolutely horrific. At least you are ok, buildings can be replaced and I look forward to seeing you back here in WA.
Best wishes
Peter
Hi Peter,
Thanks for your kind response. Although the fires subsided where we live, they spread to other areas. Since it is windy we won’t be let back until late tomorrow. I expect our cats are fine at home in their own environment.
Evacuation centers have been set up that allow pets. That’s where we are now. Our three dogs are together in a large enclosure.
The Red Cross volunteers are in the process of installing sleeping cots.
So it’s not all bad.
I’ll provide updates when we have them.
Cheers.

Oh my goodness Edwin, I hope you and your poor cats are ok!
That is terrible and so scary! Fire is truly the most terrifying of natural disasters to me.
I am sure there are so many of us here on WA that will be anxiously awaiting an update and hope you and your family are ok and your house survives.
