Don't Make New Years Resolutions. Do This Instead.
Do you traditionally make New Year Resolutions? If you have in the past, how many have you kept?
There is a saying that resolutions are made to be broken. So why make them? Here is another approach that can really propel you forward in your online business.
Business Plan
Create, or revise your business plan instead. Review your progress in 2021. See what worked, and what didn't. Where did you fall short? Did you learn new skills that you either failed to act on or used poorly?Even though 2022 is a couple of days away, why wait to do this work in 2022? Do it NOW. Get a head start.
Quarterly Goals
Instead of creating only an annual goal, why not write down one significant achievement you must complete each quarter? Then work backward to create the tasks to help you achieve these quarter goals. It is important that in combination, these quarterly goals will propel you to meet a really big goal for the end of 2022.
The Crux Of The Matter
Many think of goals in financial terms. May I suggest a paradigm shift in setting these goals to do just three things?
- Create strategies to reach and build rapport with more paying customers
- Implement and test these strategies to see if the results meet your expectations
- Tweak your actions to meet and exceed your expectations
This sounds simple. And it is. Don't complicate things. Work hard at the simple things and results you expect will happen.
When we become really good at these three things, the by-product will be increased earnings.
So that's it.
Go Ahead Make Resolutions For 2022
If you are hell-bent on making resolutions for 2022, make them for other aspects of your life. Like spending more time with the family. Take better care of your health. And working on self-improvement.
I wish everyone an amazing end to 2021 and a highly successful 2022!
Cheers.

What caught my eye was “business plan “
It is imperative in any business to do this, I have. Like any business the online business should be treated the same. 90 % of small business ventures fail and most of it comes down to lack of planning and perseverance.
Got me fired up, lol.
Thanks Edwin.

Hi Stephen,
Delighted to read your comment. You made my day! All the best to you in 2022.

A super post Edwin. Everything makes sense.
I have got one resolution - eat healthier food. I figure that if I only need to concentrate on one resolution at a time then there is less chance of breaking them.
Enjoy the New Year Edwin

Good suggestions. I especially like the idea of quarterly goals. That makes more sense than a yearly one.
My new year plans:
Keep developing my woocommerce site.
Work some more on the Lucinda book
Keep up regular posting to my cat website
If there's time: work on my other websites, especially the Alaska one. I just don't have enough hours to get it all done. Lately have been putting in 8 to 10 hours a day on the business, plus trying to keep up with the rest of life...little things like prepping a meal, etc.
Hi Fran,
I wish I was putting in 8 to 10 hours a day into my business. I average about 4. I must up the hours in 2022.
Glad to hear of your plans. Sounds awesome Fran!
Cheers.
