Do You Know That You Are Graded?

Have you ever used Uber or Lyft for a ride? Or stayed in an AirBnb residence? I am sure you received a notice to grade the level of service you received. Right?

What you may not know is that the Car Owner/Driver and the Home Owner are also asked to grade you! If you already know this then good for you. What if you didn't?

Here's the thing. It is important that you receive a high grade in the reverse evaluation. If you do not, it is possible for Uber and Lyft drivers to refuse to give you a ride. Or AirBnb home-owners who may not rent you their space.

The lesson here is to treat the driver with dignity and respect. And leave the AirBnb residence in good condition.

Grading At Wealthy Affiliate

Guess what. We are also graded here at Wealthy Affiliate. Our Rank is a measure of how well we help others through our interactions, encouragements and blog posts. It is always a good idea to give back to the community we are active in. Be it online or in our local life.

Reviews

As affiliate marketers one of our actions is to write reviews on the products and services we are promoting. As well as those that we consider sub-standard. I'd like to give a tip. Even if whatever you are reviewing doesn't meet your standards, be kind.

Always point out what redeeming qualities you find. Even if they are very slight. And when you point out the things you do not like, avoid providing a long laundry list of these items. Pick just a few and provide helpful comments on how they can be improved. The product manufacturer would appreciate that kind of positive feedback.

Site Feedback & Site Comments

Most of us should be familiar with the Site Feedback and Site Comments section at Wealthy Affiliate. I have discussed the difference between these before and the best way to respond to these posts. However, I shall summarize my comments here.

Site Feedback is where you approach it like giving then review example I wrote above. Site Comments is a whole different story. The author is NOT looking for Feedback. They want you to comment on the type of product they have presented through discussion, bringing up your own experience or just asking questions.

The kind of response the author wants is listed in the Site Comments brief. Make sure you read that. Once again, be positive in your response. And stick to the point.

The Altucher Report

This post was inspired by the current issue of #TheAltucherReport, January 2020, Volume 5, Issue 12. James Altucher who I admire greatly is a very down to earth entrepreneur and blogger. He brought up the topic of being a critic.

He segued into the activity of blogging and affiliate marketing. James discussed what guides him in writing his reviews. The following is the outline he uses to craft his content. I shall list the headings he used that I feel we can all relate to.

  1. The Pain Point
  2. The Solution
  3. Be Honest About Anything Major
  4. Include The Negative
  5. Affiliate Links
  6. Disclosures

He also wrote about the importance of writing useful content and getting involved with your online community.

Conclusion

This was one of the more interesting issues I have read and wanted to share this with you. It is reassuring when people you follow validate the business we are in here at Wealthy Affiliate.

I feel good today because I completed a new post for my website. It is about showing people in MLM on how to use affiliate marketing to develop their MLM business. This was not new to me as I had written a parallel post in my original website based on my LegalShield MLM business.

Then I discovered @ChuckHolmes here who is a master of using this same technique, He also inspires me in this business.

I strongly suggest finding two or three experts in our field, follow them and learn from their experience. And they all do not have to be a member of Wealthy Affiliate.

I wish you much success in your affiliate marketing journey.

Cheers!

Edwin

Great advice here. When I first started writing reviews I wrote some pretty critical ones where I was not the nicest. I've learned to keep it more positive and like you said be nice about the way you critique someone. And comments are the same. Sometimes people are just trying to quickly get them out and don't write the best ones.

You got it Jake. Thanks for your comments.

You bet.

Great post and I never would have known that it went both ways on the reviews of the driver/passenger or home/renter. Crazy to think about it but it does make sense. I need to remember that next time I use one of these services which I never have yet so maybe in the future I will get to experience the big city living.
Douglas

Hi Douglas,
Glad that you found that out now. it's not difficult to get a good rating from the car owner/driver. Just be there when he comes to pick you up. And be courteous. And if he or she does a good job, give them a good rating too.
Cheers.

Edwin

Well that’s good to know learning and learning.

Awesome post, Edwin!

I try to develop a relationship with my Uber drivers when I know I will be a frequent visitor to a city. Makes things soooooo much easier! I've not used Air BnB, but I have friends who own several. It's amazing the stories they tell!

I am an Altucher fan as well. Haven't read this month's yet. Looks like I definitely need to!

I appreciate you and Chuck sharing insites on how to tie in MLM's into what you do. It's a great help!

Christine

Hi Christine,

Thanks for your constructive and informative comments. I was happy to hear several members know who James Altucher is. I find his blogs quite entertaining. Glad you liked this post.

Good information for us to heed. It's helpful to hear from someone outside our company that the process we use is a good one.

Great to hear from you. Thanks for your observation Fran.

Yup you are absolutely right. I've experienced both sides. I was a customer but my husband and many others I know were drivers in the past. Thanks for sharing

Thanks for your comments. I found it interesting you have been on both sides of the fence. All the best to you.
