Are You Really Sure Who Your Target Audience Is?
This post is primarily focused on target audiences for the Wealthy Affiliate Program. But it could be adapted for others.
I wonder how many members here are earning significant money through the Wealthy Affiliate Program. We all know those who make it to Las Vegas each year are in that group. What about those who come close to the 300 Premium sales each year?
1 + 5 + 3 - 4 = 3
Let's do some math. To keep it simple I am going to only consider Premium members who pay monthly. The commission earned would be $23.50 per subscriptiion.
So for 100 Premium members one's monthly commission would be $2350.
200 Premium members would yield $4700.
And for 250 the income would be $5875 a month, Annually that would be $70,500. So how many Premium Members it would take to earn a 6 figure annual income? Let's see.
$100,000.00
To earn $100,000 a year one would need about 355 Premium members paying monthly.
Why am I bringing this up? I happen to be in the MMO niche promoting Wealthy Affiliate. The number of my posts is fast approaching 100. And I am concerned about my lack of earnings.
This brings me to a critical question.
- What should my target audience be?
- Do the topics in my posts talk to that target audience?
- And if not, what changes do I need to make?

I had come across this last year. But Kyle had recently updated this. On July 5th to be precise.
It was time I went back to it and studied it very carefully. The answer to my three questions will be staring at me in the face when I go through this training.
By perusing it briefly my mind was blown over. Kyle covered so many areas that showed me virtually an unlimited range of targeted audiences. In fact there was so much, I feel I need to fish for targeted audiences that resonate for me. And then go all out to write posts to connect with them
Keywords
Kyle goes even further. He shows what we need to do to develop effective keywords for our posts.
Armed with this information I am going to complete my last 10 posts to reach 100. And then start on my next 100 posts with this training as a guide.
Before writing a single article I plan on making a list of potential topics. 12 at a time. Followed by creating the matching keywords. I picked 12 as that works out to about 3 a week.
As soon as I complete those 12 posts, I will start on the next 12. All using this training as my guide.
I know that the window to reach 300 Premium members for 2020 is passed. By preparing now, I hope to achieve this goal for 2021. And with 100 posts already in the bag, my chances will have been significantly improved.

Thanks for your comment. You are in the great position where you can learn this business correctly. And how to implement what you learn as effectively as possible.
It doesn't matter what your target audience is. Or the niche you selected. Learn how to match your posts to that market as well as you can do it. Stay focused. And do the work. That's how you succeed.
If it takes three years to create a website that generated say $5K a month isn't that worth it? and when you get that far, the difference between $5K and $10K is all about scaling up. Not putting in twice the effort.

Thanks for your comment. Glad to have got you thinking about the possibilities. It doesn't matter ehat avenue we choose to create our business. Just learn all you can about being the best that you can be in that niche. Rather than trying out too many things at once.

I need a kick in the butt! The time here is not indicative of the work I've done. How many posts does it take to even get one premium member? Or, on average how many referrals does it take to convert to one who buys in?
I've never been good at online sells and even though I know it can be done I just doubt I can do it. I guess I shouldn't write when I'm tired, but after 9 hours at the office its so hard to get re-energized to do the work.
I appreciate the math up above, but I can't see that far, yet.

I feel your predicament. The time you have for build your business is very limited. Can you devote 2 hours a day? If you can then there are ways you can create trust by developing dialogues with potential customers in forums where people meet to discuss online money making options. You will need some content to show how Wealthy Affiliate works. And you can find courses on WA to learn how to do this.
The beauty of WA is in one place you can learn about affiliate marketing and earn money through its own affiliate program. It is not easy, but it is a process that is 100% proven through other members who are doing exactly this.
If you didn't work on this option, what other options do you have? I am certain you'd much rather earn enough online so you do not have to do your 9 hours a day job.
This is not for everyone. Don't feel bad if you decide it is not for you. You will have to figure out what can you do in the limited time you have and find something that will work for you.
