An International New Year - Champagne All Day!
Now that 2022 is here in LA, it dawned on me that the US West Coast is always late to the New Years Party. After the blockbuster celebration in New York, who cares about Los Angeles! Hence, there is nothing spectacular ever planned here since the world will not be interested in watching it.
It occurred to me that I have family in Australia, India, UAE, Switzerland, Norway, the UK, Canada, and the US.
I can say categorically that our family celebrates New Year around the globe in multiple time zones, This creates for us an International New Year phenomenon!
What if we all had a glass of champagne when family members hit midnight in their respective cities? That would be eight or more glasses of champagne throughout the day and night! Next year I think I will make that suggestion to all members of our family who live in these various cities.
8 ChampagneToasts
Living in LA our drinking binge would start at:
5 am for Melbourne, Australia - 1 glass
10:30 am for Mumbai, India - 1 glass
12 Noon for Dubai, UAE - 1 glass
3:00 pm for Geneva Switzerland and Oslo Norway- and Malaga, Spain. 3 - glasses
4:00 pm for Basingstoke and London, UK. 2 glasses
9:00 pm for New York and Toronto - 2 glasses
11:00 pm for Salt Lake City, UT - 1 glass
12 Midnight fos LA 1 glass
Altogether that would be 12 glasses! I think that is spaced out quite well so we won't get drunk. Can't have that happening for septuagenarians! Somehow I feel we won't stop at just one glass of champagne each time!
Is This A Creative New Year's Eve Plan Or What?
Any suggestions on how to improve on this plan?
By now I hope everyone has had a fantastic and safe New Years Celebration.
Cheers.
Edwin

Love your New Year celebration plan, Edwin. May 2022 be the best year yet for you and yours. Best wishes, Jenni.
Thanks Jenni for your New Years wishes. I wish you all the best in whatever you do.
Cheers!

It is certainly a plan that should be viewed as being very doable. I would note that the day after you should have the ingredients for a Bloody Mary available to counter any after effects of the bubbly.
Jerry
Funny you should say that Jerry. I do have vodka in the bar, celery, and Bloody Mary mix in the fridge, and ice in the freezer! I think Iโll have a Bloody Mary today. Why wait a year lol!
May 2022 bring great success to you.
Cheers!

A nice idea, Edwin! You won't get drunk, but I suspect that you will be nicely buzzed all day long! Nice job!

Ah Ha, next New Year will start with a buzz! May 2022 be an even more fun year for you Jeff.

I certainly can't argue with your thinking here Edwin!!
Although I reside in France, Champagne has never been my favourite tipple.. replace it with a nice glass of red 'grape juice' and you are talking my language!!๐ท
12 glasses over a day sounds very reasonable to me!
Take care my friend and have a fantastic New Year!๐พ๐ท
I agree with you. I can only take champagne in small doses. I prefer white wine. Like Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Grigio. Last night I actually drank white Zinfandel. After the midnight obligatory champagne toast!
Thanks for your insights Jessie.
Edwin
Very doses is the way to drink Champagne Edwin!
Zinfandel though is a new one for me... I will have to check it out!
I wish you a very prosperous year ahead!
