Alternative Affiliate Marketing Training - Do You Need It?
Have you ever wondered what alternative training is available in affiliate marketing? I did because I wanted to see how they stacked up against Wealthy Affiliate. More importantly do you need it considering all we have here at Wealthy Affiliate?
Right up front I want to stress that I could not find any other training platform that offered everything available in one place such as Wealthy Affiliate. Therefore, anyone who wishes to have the same suite of resources available here will have to do that a la carte using several sites.
For example none of the training programs I found offered website hosting. I am not implying that such a site doesn't exist. I just never found it myself.
Other Affiliate Marketing Training
The following is a result of my search for other worthy courses that provide affiliate marketing training. I tried to show a wide range of options available. In my opinion they are all genuine entities and are not scams. I cannot stress enough that you have to make sure you do not get sucked into such shady operations.
Independent Course Options
The first one was called Digital Marketing Bootcamp through SimpleLearn and connected to Harvard Business Publishing. Their curriculum is available in a PDF Download File. Cost for this course is $1,499
Others were through Udemy where you can purchase courses a la carte from $11 to $19
Then there was a complete step by step system to starting and growing profitable affiliate and authority sites. This training was offered by Authority Hacker, They charged a one time fee of $987 for 5 training modules and
Then of course most of the hugely successful affiliate marketers like the following have created their own courses.
Training Option By Pat Flynn
Pat Flynn offers a course for a one time fee of $699 called 1-2-3 Affiliate Marketing
Training Option By Neil Patel
Neil Patel in my opinion offers a better deal for an affiliate marketing course for $29 a month.

Conclusion
None of the above training alternatives provides the value we get here at Wealthy Affiliate. I wanted to share my findings to emphasize this important point.
However, I have to admit that they may have specific lessons that cover topics in more detail that could be of benefit to you. Since they all offer free trial periods or money back guarantees I suggest you check them out for yourself to see if you can find specific material of value to you.
As good as Wealthy Affiliate is, it is not perfect. In fact, Kyle and Carson are the first to state that. Very soon they will be launching a revised platform where new and improved features will be offered.
We are always free to check out other courses, either paid or free that can enhance our learning experience.
The world of affiliate marketing training is vast. It doesn't hurt to check out other courses that could supplement what we have here at Wealthy Affiliate.

Great article. I've done a few Udemy courses, mostly related to other areas I'd like to pursue other than affiliate marketing. They are probably the best bang for the buck. I have watched Neil Patel's videos but WA seems to follow the same philosophies anyway, so I haven't thought about pursuing training there. Thanks for sharing these.

Thanks for sharing your perspective. I agree with you regarding Neil Patel. It only makes sense to do other trainings if they teach things differently than WA. Or take what WA teaches to a new level. It is up to each one of us to figure out what works best for us.
In the final analysis, we get everything we need here to create a website that attracts traffic and starts to earn an income. Time is short so it doesn't make sense to dilute our efforts by going outside.
When we start to earn income consistently it then makes sense to look for anr pursue additional training that goes beyond what WA teaches, Like advanced ways to use ads and PPC to scale up.

Hi Edwin. Others that are genuine, that I have looked at in recent years include:
- Ryan Deiss - excellent content by reputation but expensive and biassed towards developing own products and
- Ian Pribyl - looks excellent. Used to have start for free option, not sure about pricing now but I think no monthly option.
Major differences include:
- neither provide hosting,
- both rely on FB for community which is not as good as the focused community that WA has
- I think Ryan Deiss has an affiliate program (I haven’t looked recently) but Ian Pribyl didn’t when I looked recently
- neither of these provide the equivalent of a WA blog or community training facilities
- neither do they seem to have the ethos of a like-minded community genuinely supporting each other
I use Ubersuggest, great value at £29 per month and therefore see a lot of Neil Patel’s training, for whom I have great respect... Great content but often just video and have to go hunting for text versions (for easy reference). Again, no hosting or community.
I believe the WA mix, which is attractive to both beginners developing to expert and people with prior experience, is unique.

Its a good idea to investigate affiliate offers, and you will indeed save some money. There are many offers out there to select from.. sometimes you might even find an affiliate program to promote, so its a win-win...

Not misunderstood at all, Edwin. My last statement was something I discovered. I liked the payout on a product's affiliate program, one that I wasn't interested in using. But would certainly promote them.... grin.

I agree Edwin, this is probably the best platform for affiliate marketing training. You get an all round training in every area, added to which the fantastic weekly video sessions with Jay. The only additional training I invested in recently is Pinterest SEO traffic secrets.

Hi Marissa, I had been following the course creator on Youtube for a while and implementing her Pinterest strategies. She is one of the very few I follow and was on the fence a while before buying her course. I can highly recommend it as it's pure gold. She also has a very active private facebook group. Can I throw something else into the mix please?
Potentially controversial.
Firstly, I certainly agree that the training platform here at Wealthy Affiliate is superb, and probably the best all-rounder that I too have seen.
Yes, there are a few quirks that could do with ironing out, e.g. updated training, etc. but overall WA is "pound-for-pound" (in boxing terms) the greatest.
However, I'm not so much talking about finding alternatives, but rather widening your sources of knowledge.
Take writing an article for example - on a subject that we know a little about, but require additional research.
Do you we Google the subject matter, pick the first article we find and base our entire research around that? (well, I certainly hope not).
No, we'll go to a number of sources, enhance out knowledge, look at the subject matter from a variety of perspectives, and then construct our article.
To me, the learning journey online is much the same.
I use the training and webinars in WA for my base knowlege. I'll ask questions among the community to enhance that knowledge, and I'll regularly visit the blogs and YouTube channels of people that I believe are authorities in online marketing (Neil Patel and Pat Flynn are included on MY list, and I'll add Brian Dean to that as well) to even further enhance my knowledge.
To me, this all forms part of my "training", which in reality is a never-ending journey.
