100 Articles Completed - Onto My Next 100!

Can I ask how you felt when you completed your first 100 articles? Did you feel like you accomplished an important goal. Or did you feel you fell short because you had intended to complete those 100 articles sooner?

I am in the second category as I fell short in my timeline. Instead of taking 8 months it has been 16 months since I began my affiliate marketing MMO website.

Nevertheless, I feel light-headed for at least completing 100 articles. The following is from Site Comments and shows 125 articles. 25 of them were for my first legal services' website that has been on hold.

I have been writing articles for my two websites over 19 months, That works out to over 11,355 words per month. Averages out to just under 3000 words a week. Although I haven't written as many articles as I wanted to, my word count gives me grounds for satisfaction.

A Decision And My Focus

A few days ago I wrote a blog asking for advice if I should resume work on my legal services' website. The consensus was to do both. I had been leaning in that direction until I read a thought-provoking blog post by Roope Kiuttu

Wenna Have More LUCK With Your Business? (Do This 1 Thing!)

He advised to write as many blogs as possible because that increases one's odds of earning a decent income.

I went through a serious soul-searching and asked myself, did I really want to spread my efforts over two websites? That would make sense if I was already earning significant money from at least one. As that was not the case I felt I had to focus on just one.

Can you guess which one that was? The one with 100 articles instead of 25. And that happens to be the one where I am promoting Wealthy Affiliate.

The Richness Of Wealthy Affiliate

There is so much material here that I can use to help others make a decision to sign on as a member. I have already had a few referrals. Now was not the time to reduce effort on this site, but to do more.

I had created a plan and I am proceeding down that path. Full speed ahead.

Thanks to everyone who gave me advice I sought. Don't feel bad if I didn't follow your advice. I know you meant well.

Areas I Will Be Taking Action In

Since my asset has been growing significantly, I felt that it was time to incorporate Email marketing. Until now, I had been using Facebook and Pinterest to drive traffic to my posts. By not having a list building and Email Marketing system, I must be leaving money on the table.

My priority will be to sign up with Aweber, create a couple of landing pages, and start my first Email marketing campaign.

Jay Neill not long ago gave a series of webinars on this topic. I will watch those again as a refresher and move ahead.

A tip for watching the archives is to watch it in 1.25 or even 1.5 speed to reduce the time to go through the webinar. It is always possible to slow down and repeat areas if necessary.

Social Media

Even though I have been using Social Media, I fell short on posting regularly. Relatively few of my articles have been covered. That leaves me with a huge opportunity to edit my articles where necessary and post the new and improved one's onto Facebook and Pinterest.

Google Analytics

I shall be using Analytics to find out the posts that have raked high and/or received the most traffic to edit these to add the Email capture widgets.

Although I have used Analytics, I am still not comfortable in using this tool effectively. But there is a webinar series on Google Analysis by Jay that merits study.

Advice Always Welcome

If any member who wishes to leave me some words of wisdom or comment on this article please do so. You will always have my appreciation. And I will check out and comment on your posts too.

I wish you much success in your affiliate marketing journey.

Cheers.

Edwin

Congratulations Edwin on 100!
When I completed my 100th article (by my 3rd month after I built my new website) I felt elated! But it is all relative, By month 6, I completed 145 articles, but then I stoppled cold, and switched my focus to making You Tube videos (except for a few new articles).

Now I am going back to those 147 posts, and making them, better by adding associated videos to them, links, etc. (to drive more traffic). And I started adding new posts again.

So the moral of the story here, is that it may feel great to get there early (in my case by month 3), but in the grand scheme of it all, time doesn't matter. What matters only is how much traffic you are driving to those articles, and how well they are converting.

And that is all a function of quality, not quantity.

Cheers,
Kaju

Great to hear from you. Sharing your experience and the advice you provided was fantastic.

Makes a great deal of sense.

All the best to you.

Edwin

Thanks for the inspiration Edwin. Your article here compelled me to share my experience in greater detail in a post

You're most welcome Kaku. Thanks for writing your post.

Edwin

Congrats! That is a huge accomplishment! I just hit my 25th article and itching to get more done. I have a list of possible posts I can write but I gotta rein it in a bit.

I think its better to trickle them into the web and let each one get some traction.

I love how you did the layout here and gave an update on each aspect of your path, beautiful!

Thanks for the info!

Thanks for your kind wishes Jeff. You wil reach your goals. Just never give up.

Edwin

Hi Edwin,

Congrats on the 100 articles, it is quite a milestone. It shows your level of commitment if, despite the milestone, you still feel you fell short.

I think for me personally I am so focused on getting as many articles out monthly that the milestones now seem to pass by without hardly noticing. I should take notice however and give myself a pat on the back because whether it’s 50, 100 or whatever, it is an awful lot of work that goes into creating so much content.

Wishing you well with your next 100 articles.

Regards

Ray

Hello Ray,

Thanks for putting this into perspective. Some of us tend to be more critical of our own efforts. It helps to take a positive attitude and focus on the future rather than what has passed.

My goal is to write at least two articles a week and hold myself accountable,

I have failed in advance planning. Before I proceed I am going to sketch out the topics of at least the next 10 articles, work on the keywords for all 10 before I start to write. In that way I will be able to maintain a steady flow of work and not fall behind.

Thanks for your support. All the best to you too.

Edwin

Congratulations on hitting the milestone. The next 100 posts should be even easier than the first 100.

Deciding whether to focus on one website or multiple websites has been an ongoing challenge for me.

To me it seems that those who have excelled in affiliate marketing focused on one website for the first couple of years.

Hi Sondra, thanks for your support. I feel you are right about the next 100 posts. All the best to you too.

Edwin

A great milestone to reach Edwin. Does it really matter you took longer than you planned? To me no because you did reach your target. I would suggest they are probably a lot more comprehensive because you took your time with your articles.

I wish you well as you take on new marketing methods.

Derek

Hello Derek,

Thanks for your support and that wise perspective. You are correct that I give a lot of time to make my articles helpful to those who read it. I will become more efficient with the next 100.

All the best to you.

Edwin
