As online business/marketing gets more popular and accessible to many people around the world, would the online business world turn to be a saturated marketplace with many affil

This is a great question and I too have wondered...but I like what Kae said about people and their willingness to persevere. A business like this takes a great deal of work up front with very little reward. That in itself can be discouraging. It also takes a lot of self motivation, which some may struggle with....one thing to remember, some may enjoy what you are presenting and some may not. Same for the next guy (or myself). That is how I try to stay encouraged....while one person may think I am a looney, another may think my writings are golden...:) We cannot please everyone. Best of luck! Angel

I am the furthest thing from an economist, but I will put in my 2 cents just because ;)

I think that we most probably will not see that kind of saturation happen anytime soon... If more people are becoming aware of the earning potential of the internet, not many are willing to persevere and do the work.. I really don't think that's about to change.

Meanwhile, we're entering the age of the "internet of things" -- that's going to open up a lot of new niches, with a lot of new products.

I believe as long as the world evolves, the world of affiliate marketing will too.

Hey Kae, thanks for sharing your opinions! :) Yea you're right, i couldn't agree more with you, it's all about internet of things! Having said, there should be a growing trend of internet users and therefore a growing market on the internet business as the internet world evolves further.

Good question, and one that I've often wondered about myself. I have been reading (and re-reading) an excellent article which was written about the MLM model, since I was researching MLM for a post (you can check the article out here: http://www.vandruff.com/mlm.html).

The guy who wrote the article states that MLM is an intrinsically unstable model simply because of limited market potential (supply and demand), which is true of any product, and yet an ever-growing sales army trying to sell that product.

His argument is that, even though there is only a limit to the demand of any given product, the MLM model keeps recruiting salespeople to keep pushing the product, even when the demand for the product has reached its limit, and way exceeded it.

Think of the analogy of, say, 4 McDonalds all on the same corner in any given neighbourhood. Ridiculous idea, right?

Then, as I continued to research, I thought to myself, 'hang on, isn't that exactly what we're doing with affiliate marketing?'

Let's take the example of Product X, for which there is only so much global demand, and no more. What happens to the affiliate who enters the market for Product X, just as the limit of the demand for the product has been reached?

I don't know - I would really like someone who is very knowledgeable about this to weigh in. It's something that bothers me too, to be honest.

Hi Sean, Thanks for the great comments and thank for sharing about the article on mlm model! It's interesting, but i think it would also depend on what kind of product that the mlm is selling, if it is consumable products, then the market share will probably renew by itself at the end of product life cycle or after the product has been consumed.

I have just found out that Kyle did write about the competition of Niche in the starter course , you may want to read about it too. So it is said that there is no such thing a niche competition :) The title is "A Niche is A Group of People Looking for Stuff" in lesson 3 of getting started course 1.

If that affiliate got his/her training at WA, then they know they need to to do research ;)

I think if the limit of the demand for a product has been reached, then we choose another product...
