Have you been studying the certification courses? It'a all there.

on my web site I was wondering how do you make a page that is dedicated strictly to videos or pictures? so that people can make comments on them?

You could try making a post instead of a page, it would allow a comment section in the post. Write a new post for each photo and say something about it in a short paragraph. It builds up links in your site and very google friendly. Then make "Page" to put all photos on. Link each photo on the page to the post about that photo. Add some text to photo Leave comment here or read post. learn more...etc.
I hope I could help
Wade

Thank you it did. On the page that i will make for the pic how would i find the link to the pic?

Make the new post with single picture.. then outside of word press, view your new post in a web browser. Like if you were visiting someone's website.. in the address bar, at the top, simply copy that address. Then return to word press where you built the page with all the pictures and highlight text "click here" or "more information" or however you you have decided to word it... Then click "add link" feature on wp toolbar while in the wp editor. And paste that link you copied.. it's easier to have two browser windows open at the same time. Just refresh your page that you are trying to get link from.
Hope that helps
Wade.

when I am making my content for my web site do I make it a post or a page?

You will use both. As others have mentioned each has its own use. For me (excluding the about me and privacy statement) I use my pages as an introduction to my major categories and then use posts for the information that I am writing about.

There is no hard and fast rule. It is a matter of you finding what works for you and your content.

My process is that there are m ore pages than posts.

Posts are the blogs that introduce the main topic and pages are those that explain and lead into the actual promotion of products.

Call me old fashioned.

There is no difference regarding ranking. Posts have date and they go automatically to blog roll, but you can add them separately in the main menu. Pages are for more evergreen stuff, posts are more personal opinion stuff, but this is far from exact statement.

I have more than 70 pages in my big site, and more than 400 posts.

One thing to bear in mind, there is a limited number of items in the main menu (usually 80) so you may get in the situation that you cannot add any item more. And pages must go there. I reached this limit once and had to change pages into posts.

A page holds your posts, so your content will most likely be a post. Sometimes, you might want one page to be exclusive, such as your About Me page. I create posts that get placed on pages.
