Google Rank - disappearing act
I have to start this out with a funny story! I was searching Jaaxy for a tile for this blog post only with hopes Google will find it and rank it. Why because we are conditioned to in our content writing. However, I did a search on why are my rankings falling. Instead i got:
- why are eyelashes falling out
- my fingernails falling off
- why do my cakes fall
- why do my breaks squeek
I really had a good laugh. It's trying to tell us something. If you get the hidden meaning, you are doing great! Ranking doesn't matter! Not to the extent of how if fluctuates from hour to hour or even day to day. It's more of an overall view of how your site is doing out on the web.
I have all but 2 now ranking anywhere in google. So, it is frustrating when you all of a sudden feel like your loosing ground. DO NOT take it to heart. It is a dance with Google you will play for the rest of the time you are doing any kind of internet Marketing! Trying to find out why your article was position 1 page 1 then no where in site on google AT ALL is like looking for the needle in the proverbial haystack.
Just keep positive and keep going. I believe it was about this time when everything disappeared on me that I gave up last time. Only to come back a year and a half later to find out I had actually started to make money. I didn't earn the money because i had walked away.
Keep going! The battle is well worth it in the end. It seems like a life time while we sit in front of our computers hoping every day to see that $ start showing up. I know it does for me this second time around. I feel like I have been here for quite a while when in fact it has only been a month and a half.
Do not fret the ever changing google games. Just make sure your items are indexed and out there! Everything else will come!
I try to remember my goal for being here. I am not getting any younger. I am disabled and can not work. I have grandchildren that I love deeply. I want to leave something to them of me. I want each and every one of them to have a chance to be who they want to be and not worry about the money while learning how to do that. This is my legacy!

You are right, it is important not to give up. I am one that is not willing to let all this hard work go to waste.
I've got pages that are ranked on the first page one day, nowhere the next time i check, then maybe on the 4th page another day! But my traffic is coming up slowly but surely, so I'm going to spend more time looking at that!
It’s hard to be patient when you want to be successful, but it is a skill that comes with experience. I like that you said, this is your legacy and it’s something your family will be able to benefit from.

that makes me feel a little better, cause between the google and wa rankings... i feel like the worlds biggest failure
my wa ranks suck, and always suck more from time to time. why??
is it cause im doing something wrong, its is cause im not a writer? is it cause public speaking is bamboo under the fingernails? maybe its cause im no the social butterfly that is required?
im the end, the reason doesnt really matter. im doing it my way, rankings be damned... i do my best to continue everyday with or without the silly "happy numbers" the numbers change too much and i have no idea how, so im not loosing faith due to it
I know exactly what you mean. Just don't let it get you too down or stop you from continuing forward.
Thanks for a nice post, Edensbox. I am fairly new to WA and am not really sure how the Google rankings work yet, only that ranking is something everyone wants and strives for. Congrats on your decision to return to WA! Carol
I do know how you feel!! What you are saying here is similar to what I have experienced. I have been with WA for over 2 years but only been active for approximately 9 months to maybe a full year altogether.
I got frustrated with my last niche only making nickels and dimes and ended up procrastinating for the longest time. I had personal life issues that did not help either.
But 2018 started with a Bang. I still have my full-time job because we need something to pay the bills with. But every spare moment I have, are spent building my new Niche with the SWAG gang.
I know it's not going to happen overnight and that I need a website with at least 50000 to 60000 words before I even start to see some results, but I'm in for the long run this time.
And I do have an advantage, I know my way around Wordpress and WA this time, so things are a lot easier.
Google will eventually find me, and I will have all that work all ready for it. :)
Like you say the battle is worth it in the end!

That is how I feel. I know my way around WA. There is still so much new stuff though. I am trying to divide my time between a paying customer, WA and family life which is not easy at all!

Keep your head up and just keep going. Its been a rough week for me because I hit this writer's block wall again. It will crumble soon and I will be back at it.
