I am one of those people who's talent is not writing. And if you're like me, then you'll like what I'll share with you today. "my secret to writing 1000 plus words for my blog".

First let me tell you that if you're struggling to write your blog articles, that is just a block in your mind. It's a limiting belief and what I found is that positive affirmations will work. But also there is an app for that too!

One of the ways I get my writing done is to record myself and transcribe it. Now I used to go and pay for transcription services, but it got too expensive and I still had to edit some of the paragraphs.

Until I found this iOS App called Drafts.

This app has saved me money and time writing articles. What I do is use the dictation part of the App and then save my work on evernote to complete the editing process.

The dictation is not like using siri, it's actually way better. My favorite part about it is that it waits for me to talk. What I mean by that is that it does not stop listening when I stop talking.

Unlike siri, where I felt rushed to say what I had to say but quickly and in one whole sentence before it would stop transcribing.

As a matter of fact, I am using the dictation software from Drafts right now.

Cool right!

There is only one small draw back. You'll need an apple device because there are no plans yet of getting it with android.

So, I am curious. What do you use to help you get pass the writing process for your articles and blog posts?

I found an app for Android, but am unsure if it is the same. Can you tell me who creates Drafts? The one I found is by Fisher Adelakin, I'm gonna check it out. I need all the help I can get when it comes to writing. Thanks =) Laura

Drafts is created by Agile Tortoise. The one you found in Android is not the same as Drafts from ios.
I found that using Google Keep is the closest to Drafts. You can voice dictate a note. Download it and test it.
I just hope that one day Drafts will be available on Android.

I take my keywords and put them into the writing templates, then do an outline. Then I google stuff along the subject and get outside sources. Then I just free write paragraphs under each heading. THEN I write the intro paragraph (because at the beginning, I don't know where the article will go!) and then write the conclusion.

Seems to work for me!

That's a very well thought out process. I like it that you wait to the end to write your intro paragraph. Thanks for sharing Rhonda.

I use the same process when I create Headlines. I wait to the end of the content to write a compelling headline.

Hi Eddie, yes, like some of the other comments, I also start writing in one go, withe the office door shut and favourite music in the background to drown out any unwanted distractions.
A very good article.

that's cool because I do that too. I lock myself in my office and start the dictation process. I like the idea of music in the background. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Eddie
I use the old fashion pen and paper. I will start writing my article in one go, so that my creative juices are flowing and there is a cup to catch it. That is my notepad. It seems I get more done without a computer or tablet to distract me.
I think that doing it one go is important as it will be fresh in your mind.
Hope that helps.
Antonio

that's an important point! The distractions are less when using the most reliable way to write... pen and paper. Thanks for sharing Antonio. ;)

Does it understand your accent. As I use google assistant and it comes up with some funny sentences.

It does Antonio. I was surprised because my wife says that I have an accent, but I don't hear it. :)

Oh I was all excited until I got to the end where you informed that it is only for Apple devices.

Oh well I will just have to keep looking.

Thank you for sharing

All the best

Jennifer

I know!!! LoL... I actually wanted to go with an Android phone but this App keeps me with the iPhone.
I'll keep my eyes and ears open for any word to Android users. ;)
