Afraid to Make YouTube Videos?
You are not alone. There are many people that want to create their own YouTube channel but are afraid of what other people may think.
I was one of those people. Being an introvert didn't make it any easier. However, I knew that in order to make progress, I'd have to step out of my comfort zone.
I set forth and created my first video. Then another. And another. Guess what? It became easier with each one and I feel more confident with each new video I make.
Tips for Making YouTube Videos
1. You do not have to be in front of the camera if you don't want to be. You can create slideshow presentations and record the screen while you speak about each slide.
2. You can also record your screen and have yourself in the webcam (inset on the screen) if that makes you more comfortable.
3. Approach each video as if you are teaching someone something. Pretend that you are teaching a good friend. It will help you to be yourself.
4. Be yourself! Don't change who you are. Some people will like your videos and some won't. Even the most famous YouTubers get tons of dislikes on their videos.
5. Finally, it gets easier as you go along. You'll get the hang of it and you'll figure out what your style is.
YouTube marketing works! If you are ready to create your channel, there is no better time than now.

This is something I have tried and shied away from time and time again. It is on my to do list and I definitely need to feel the fear and do it anyway.

Hi Karen,
I was the same way for a long time. I started with slideshow presentations to become comfortable. It does get easier after the first video. Thank you for reading this post!

I’ve just started. I was like you, but just bit my lip and went for it. All mine are unscripted and I just did them in one take each. I enjoy it now. But, I have to do it without an audience.
That's awesome! I record in one take also and being alone when I record helps me to speak freely and naturally.
