I am an American who grew up in the Midwest and after high school and an attempt at college I joined the US Air Force and served for five years. That time of my life opened me to new ideas, new places and especially new friends.
After my military stint I was drawn into the corporate world as a banker, more out of necessity than desire. It took a few years for me to realize that corporate life wasn't for me to I returned to college and pursued a degree in Fine Arts at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, DC.
Even after an incredible education and an awakening to the world of art I was burdened with the values that had been instilled in me as a young man - success is defined by the amount of money you have and the title that you have earned. As a result I went back into the corporate realm. I spent several years there until I finally got the courage to continue my education and broaden my field of study. I enrolled in acupuncture school. The knowledge and experiences I found myself a part of was where I really felt at home. Unfortunately, money became a big issue so I had to forego that pursuit and I returned to the corporate world.
After many years of moving around the business world as a word processor, an executive assistant, an IT project manager and an employment recruiter I finally listened to the words of Joni Mitchell in her song ''Woodstock'' - "we've go to get ourselves back to the garden." It was early in 2000 that I had the opportunity to join a friend in his garden company which specialized in residential gardening. That soulful connection I had felt while studying acupuncture was reignited and returned to me. There was something special and deeply spiritual that I gained by having my hands in the soli - literally!! I had reconnected with Mother Nature and have gotten back to the garden...
Gardening, I realized was that place where I could express myself freely and creatively. The plots of blank, empty soil became my canvases and the flowers and shrubs became my palette of colors and expressions and feelings.
Now that I am essentially retired and living in Germany, where I have a lawn and garden of nearly 2,000 sq ft, I am comfortable and happy and have the time to share the knowledge that I have learned over the years with others who have an interest in gardening.

Welcome to Wealthy Affiliate.
Great goals here. The training will help you understand how this works so you can gauge how much time you want to spend to achieve your goals. With your determination to do the training and to apply it, you will be amazed at how much you can achieve.
WA is a very friendly, helpful and active community. We like to help new comers achieve success. The Online Entrepreneur Training which is a self-managed program. You can do it at your pace. When you have questions, you can ask them in the comments section after each lesson.
Now that you've outlined your goals, you can start working towards them. Remember that this is a journey and not a destination.
There is a lot of work ahead, so the more effort that you put in, the more you will achieve.
As Kyle (one of the owners) likes to say - success is very cumulative in nature.
Every action you take will add up to much greater success. I can tell you that when you earn your first money, it will all become very REAL and it will lead to much more success.
The more time you can spend working through the training here at Wealthy Affiliate, the sooner you will have the foundation that you can build upon.
We do wish you much success.

What a challenging week it has been. I had been making headway in the Starter training for several days and I have gotten as far as establishing my website. The past several days, however, have taken me away from the computer - the reason - it is autumn and gardening, being a passion of mine, I knew it was time to get ready for the onslaught of winter. I wanted to be certain that everything was in order so I have spent the last few days getting the hedge trimmed, pruning all the perennials, gathering seeds from the annuals for next spring's germination, cutting the roses back, moving and transplanting things that had gotten too big for their location, mowing and fertilizing, raking tons of leaves and piling up more debris that I even imagined
About 5 years ago I moved to a new house with a garden that is nearly 140 square meters. At the time other than lawn maintenance the garden had been ignored and the trees and shrubs were out of control. No serious garden maintenance had been accomplished in more than 15 years and the sight of the overgrowth took my breath away. Simultaneously, I had an overwhelming desire to tackle the briers and brambles and weeds and turn the space into something that was visually and aromatically pleasing.
Since those early days the space has been turned around and transformed into a garden that is thriving and in productive. I had previously worked as a residential gardening with a focus mostly on flowers and lawns. Now, with the amount of space that is available I have ventured into growing a few fruits and vegetable -. another learning adventure. The garden has become a source of constant pleasure and although there are tasks to perform pretty much on a daily basis, it has become a source of respite and relaxation.
So, now that the major garden projects are under control I am now able to refocus my attention on the WA training. It's a good feeling to be ''back in the saddle again'' and have the WA community support that is constantly growing.
Thanks to everyone who has offered guidance and support.

Hello Earl.
Welcome, and congratulations on becoming a premium member.
Thank you for following me and adding me to your network.
I wish you all the success in the coming year.
I noticed that you enjoy gardening.
As you advance through your training, here is something that you might find helpful.
I've just completed a 14-day LIVE case study done by Jay. It was incredible training and I've learned a lot from it. I think you'll enjoy it because his niche was men's gardening and he created a website during the training. You might find this helpful to narrow down your Niche.
Just add this line to the top search bar and you will find the results.
"Research to Profits Step-By-Step: 14 Day LIVE Case Study"
Thank you and God bless Lionel.
