The Importance Of "Time" Keywords
There is a group of keywords that are very easy to rank for and are very profitable - they're called "time" keywords. These are basically keywords that have the year in them.
They are available in all niches and what I've been focusing on the last few months. My new website, which I started 4 months ago, exclusively focuses on "best of" posts with the year in them. I'm over 200 visitors a day and have had a few $100+ days so far. Every month traffic doubles and so do profits (profits are starting to quadruple!)
The new year is coming and now is the time to make as many "best of 2017" posts as you can. I've created over 25 and have about 50 more to write. I expect them all to make it to page 1 and to make me money.

Interesting you mention this. I haven't tried the "year" tactic yet, but I have thought about using it. I've noticed the year 2016 appearing in a lot of recent Google searches I've done on various topics.
Are you using Jaaxy for keywords? Or are you just guessing that putting the year in has search traffic with low competition?
I use the free keyword tool here.. for example I'll look up best keyword tools 2016.. if it gets traffic I assume it will get traffic in 2017. My top 8 keywords that earn me money have the year in them
