Hi,
I set up AIO SEO a couple of weeks ago on my website and checked this morning to see if Google has indexed my site...doesn't appear so according to the WA Site Managemen

Thanks for all the replies, still haven't fixed the error that AIO SEO is showing, but Google didn't seem to care as it has now ranked my site....:-)

Congratulations!

There are times Google and other search engines will take other text instead of your first paragraph.

In the meta description just delete the part that says post type and or separate and add in your 158 characters yourself save and refresh

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. have had a look for your explanation...
"In the meta description just delete the part that says post type and or separate and add in your 158 characters yourself save and refresh"
Can't find where to do this,

All my AIOSEO scores are around 80 %. My website has been active for over a month and still not ranked. I guess you got to be patient, and keep posting.

Hi, you do need to keep posting to satisfy Google. You do need to be patient. I wish you success.

Hi all,
Expanding on my previous question about blog articles and how often we can post them..
Where is the BEST place to post a blog / article to get the best result from

it has been suggested that low hanging fruit with searches of 50+ and a QSR 100 or less

Hi Katie,
Just posted the following to Mark, would love your thoughts on this as well if you don't mind.....

I know the QSR is slightly above 100, but it has lots of traffic, thought I might be able to get a little bit of it. I have a series of blogs I plan to post, all based on the same general topic but different headings and varying content. All the topic headings have similar keyword numbers and thought that as my ranking went up I'd get more traffic..
Please tell me if I'm on the wrong track so I don't waste my time.

Cheers
David

There is no reason why you cannot give it a go but try and fit into perhaps two low hanging keywords so long as it flows naturally.
this might be a bit of help.

Do not think so....what?

Too much competition, only my opinion.

Hi Mark,
I wanted your opinion, please feel free to explain to this newbie exactly what you mean! Love constructive criticism, all the way to the bank.

Yea, I have only been here a month before you. What I get out of this is with that much competation it is more difficult to be successful. There are many visitors but your chances of success is less. This is what I get out of the lesson Kyle gave in WA. I could be wrong.

Hi David, as long as you have the keyword in the title of your page/post and in the first paragraph it will rank high as your website becomes authoritative.

Hope this helps.
Lis.

Thanks Lis,
It does help :-)

I've just thought of another avenue which still includes having the keyword in your title, but you could also create articles in 'Street Articles' and link them back to your page.

Street Articles is another program of WA's and is hugely recognised by the search engines. This may also help to increase your ranking.

Once you write a blog, you can share to all your social media groups such as: FB, G+, twitter, LinkedIn, Redditt, etc. You can also look for groups related to your niche on places like FB and G+. Then there are forums. Just do a google search for forums related to you niche.
But be sure to read the terms on the forum, there are some which don't allow affiliate links or only allow them in one area like your signature.

Hi Angel,
Thanks for the reply, this helps heaps and answers my question, but brings another question to boot, I'm not sure what the difference between sharing on SM sites and forums is compared to posting? How do you do it without posting the blog or article? Is there a WA course for doing this?

thanks for the help
David

Maybe I misunderstood your question. I was thinking you wanted to know where to promote (post) your blog. I was assuming you had all ready placed the article on your website. :)
Put your new post on your website and then share in the places I mentioned. :) I hope that clarifies, sorry for the confusion.

No you didn't misunderstand my question, I just didn't phrase it well. I'm so new to this I'm not sure exactly how to share on Social Media. I have a Facebook account my kids believe I should shut down (which I did 4 3 months, another story) because I post things and do stuff in the wrong places...
Thanks for the replies.. :-)

Its ok, we were at new at one time. :) I looked up some videos for you. I'll be honest, I didn't watch them lol. But if they don't help, go to google, search how to use facebook (or anything) and then click video under the search bar.

When we write a blog article for our website, should we only post it on there, or can we post it here at WA and at other places like Street Articles without it been seen as dupl

I usually post a little bit about what I have blogged about David and then put a hyper link to the blog article (using the words read more or continue). This way it is not duplicate and I get to share my work with my friends here at Wealthy Affiliate.

I hope that helps you.

Thanks Susan,
I know I'm being really bald at the moment, but can you send me a link to one that you've done so I can see exactly what you mean..
Cheers
David

This is one that I have posted David Why is it so Hard to Break Negative Habits?

Thanks Susan, makes perfect sense now!

Glad that I could help David. It always helps me when I can see how something is done!

Others have answered. I agree google doesn't like duplication. Unless it is a paid ad get those all the time from disparate web sites.

Definitely only post it once. Glyn.

Thanks Glyn
By that comment I'm assuming (which i hate doing for obvious reasons) that you only post it once, but that once, can be on your website or an article directory etc

Yes, Absolutely anywhere is OK as long as it's not duplicate content. Glyn.

Do not post it will be duplicate unless you change complete wording.
Ken

Thanks Kenny

Post only once. You must change it to post somewhere else.

You mean tweaking his article? That's called Spinning.

So that's what spinning is and I'm presuming a big No No...

You can rewrite any article. Just make sure it is different.

Hey,

It's a big NO NO copying pasting your own post on article directories; -)

Thanks for the prompt reply David,
Ok got it don't copy my blog off my website and post it anywhere else, what if I don't put it on my website and put the original post directly into one only specific article directory can I link it back to my website?

I'm signed up to Jaaxy Pro and it works well..But I'm trying to find keywords that are good for a certain geographical location..ie Australia only. Can I do this with Jaaxy or W

I think it checks everywhere, not just some area's

Thanks Harry

Hey David, Why would you only want to limit yourself to just one location. I'm a little curious about that.

It would be very useful to just search for keywords that are in my local area I have a bricks and mortar business that I have a website for it would be really useful to find out what my customers search for. I asked this question a while ago and the advice I got was that you can't make the search location specific. It just searches the "internet"

Hi Evelyn,
By one location I mean Australia, its to promote a mortgage company for a client I've got and I have some other locally based businesses that want me to set up websites in geographical areas for them also.
The Jaaxy keyword tool is giving me a number for the world wide web and not just Australia or Brisbane where I need to be more focused with keywords.
Hope you're enjoying WA, its great that you're being curious... :-)

Hi Vicki,
Thought that was going to be the answer, but it must be able to be done somehow. If I find another tool or a way I'll let you know. :-)

When ever it comes to brick and mortar businesses when people Sesrch for them in google of bing they usually come up first. So keyword search is important but not by geographical areas on Jaaxy.

Try Traffic Travis I think you can do it with that - it was developed by a Kiwi I've tried it a while ago but it isn't as simple as jaaxy you can get a free version let me know how you go.

Thanks Vicki,
I'm actually a Kiwi (one of the many migrants to Australia) so should be able to work it out...lol
Will let you know how I get on.

I know that you can keep the pages in draft but this is time consuming and frustrating when I'm changing themes (no still haven't sorted that out yet). Is that the only way from

I think I did the same thing but I figure my site probably ranks page 100,000 in the google machine so I'm not to worried about it, it will never be seen. As you already know you will always be tweaking your site.

Hi Brez,
Yes its a long and winding journey we're on.... :-)

Here's an interesting observation for this discussion! I had a page in draft mode waiting final review and one of the images showed up as a crawl error in Google Webmaster Tools. It is a new image that I only used on this new page I was writing.

Looks to me like Google found my draft page??

David as long as you leave in draft and did not publish it, it remains private!

Remember, Google can not SEE your site. As long as you are not changing the content already there you should be fine

loved the way you put this question, had to open it :D

Don't publish it... keep it in "draft" mode.

Thanks, I thought that might be the case, was hoping for an easier solution. Ian has told me to my indexing settings so might try that too.
Cheers
David

If you want to prevent search engines from indexing your site then Settings > Reading > Search Engine Visibility. But if you've already published some pages then that wont help.

However, it takes time before your site will get traffic. So I wouldn't worry about changing the look of the site during it's early stages. Focus on content at first. The actual look can wait - no urgent hurry for that. The main thing not to change are any of the URLs that have been indexed.

I may have deleted/changed up pages that got indexed, what would someone do if they had done this, because I have done this maybe after the first month but didn't know the pages I were putting up had been indexed the 404 errors are slowly starting to go away, but I am curious about this.

Hi Ian,
Thanks for that,
What do you mean by any of the URL's that have been indexed? How do I know if they've been indexed?
I also want to change my whole domain name but keep the content from a previous website, is that doable (Ozzie Language). Can I use the same content...I've had 71 page views so not a lot really...
