What Is Happiness?

This is something I've been trying to figure over the past few days. A friend of mine asked how I was doing a couple days ago and I replied I'm ok I guess I'm just not "Happy". She replied it's all your head. Is it really, only in my head? Technically I have no reason to be unhappy, I've got a job, pay my bills, go on random vacations and have roommates I don't have to pay to watch my animals, a handful of the best friends a girl could ever ask for, fur-balls that love me way too much, trying to start several online businesses so I don't have to work 7 days a week slowly killing myself, have a college education and 3 degrees and yet I am so unhappy. I feel like I've got this huge hole in my chess and I just don't know what I'm missing.

A co-worker asked me today if I liked Seattle and if I've decided to move. I said yes I did and I am. She gave me a huge hug and said I'll miss you, so long as you're happy and I just started crying. It felt like someone took a knife and drove it into my chest. I said I don't think I ever will be happy, I don't know what that means any more. She said you'll know it when you find it. What does that even mean? Continue walking around with the face of a clown pretending that everything is a ok when I feel like I'm dying on the inside, ugghhhh. Well that's just plain annoying don't ya think?

Happiness comes from within.

Apparently my insides are broken.

Sounds like something in you feels that you need permission to be or feel happy. Do you?

I view quite a few documentaries. If you can get your hands on the following, I would recommend them.

1. Mindfulness: Be Happy Now
2. The Power Of The Heart

Also, I view a lot of things on FMTV (Food Matters TV with James and Laurentine). You can subscribe for a monthly fee online, or watch for free on your TV using a device like ROKU. Personally, I use ROKU because it was a black Friday deal for $25 and I enjoy being able to see on my big screen.

There's everything you can think of on there from how to organic garden, to tapping for health, to understanding the brain, and SO MUCH more. :o)

Anyway, hope something in this comment was helpful. :o)

Excellent question. I never thought I needed permission. I don't know.

Will definitely check out the documentaries. Will also check out FMTV. I've always wanted to start my own organic garden. Thank you, yes your comment was helpful.

Mindfulness: Be Happy Now was a great recommendation. Makes a lot of sense. Thank you. Will have to watch it multiple times. Thanks again.

Have you read any self-help books lately? Chicken Soup For the Soul is a good start. There are many books in the series now.

If you've been watching a lot of news channels, click off the tv for a while. That will also help.

Go to a comedy open mic if you can. Watch amateur comics bomb on stage in front of all their friends. That will make your problems seem a lot less significant in comparison. You might even enjoy a few laughs.

No but my friend I spoke to a couple days ago suggested one and put it in the mail to me immediately should have it by tomorrow. Will get Chicken Soup as well it can't hurt.

I stopped watching the news years ago. Have no clue what's going on in this world unless someone tells me.

Will check to see what open mic's are around. Thanks.

I like the idea of actually eatimg chicken soup. It's a start :-)

I've been craving chicken soup maybe I'll make some, lol
