Will This Work For Me?
Hello Everyone!
Well, it's been 8 weeks since I last blogged here at WA. It's been 2 months of some fairly serious introspection by me.
You see, I didn't think that I had this in me. I began to think that I wasn't an 'entrpreneur', a 'businessman' instead I thought that I'd have to resign myself to just being a 'retail assistant' or a 'shelf packer' at my local superstore.
I actually did have a try-out period at a local health food shop for 3 days but I found myself almost constantly thinking "Oh, wow, this would make a great niche!" and "Do they have a website? No? Oooo there's an opening!".
So, I seemed to be trapped between someone who didn't think that they 'had it in him' and someone who's permanently (apparently) thinking about niches, marketplaces and how that or this 'audience' could be helped.
As a consequence, I have decided to give this Internet Marketing a concentrated stab. I HAVE to make myself focus on the work in front of me and not let myself get distracted by all the possibilities that the 'work from home' business can throw up at you.
You know the stuff: Oh, just make a coffee before I start, do I have a reply on that email I sent? who's on FB/Twitter/LinkedIn? I'll just put the tv on for 'background noise'.
I've had a look back at the blogs I've done on here and there's a lot of 'challenges' that I've started but, most certainly, not finished. Now, that's a lot of mental energy expended but not satisfied, a lot of time in research and infrastructure building spent and a whole bunch of money left on the table.
Now, I could say "Here's another challenge" but I'm not going to do that, why bother if I don't finish them? Instead I told a friend in my local village about what I'm doing and each time she sees me, she asks "How's the website doing?" and I have, just have, to have something done so I can be truthful and tell her.
I have the skills to do this and if I come across stuff that I don't know then there are online sources where that info can be fouhd easily and for free.
So, do not give up on your dreams - it can be done and you are the exact person to do it and now is the exact time to do it!

I briefly went over your thoughts on your post, I would say in my opinion, forget being their competitor. You are selling your niche to the community of the world. Of course what you say should come from you. Not to copy the company you work for. OK, I am not sure what your point was, but it did bother me that you were bothered that you don't want to compete against the hand that feeds you.
If I'm waay off, I am sorry.
YOU HAVE NO COMPETITION AS LONG AS YOU SELL TO THE WORLD WIDE INTERNET.

Ohhh and another thing, as long as you're a member, YOU CANNOT HELP LEARN HOW TO SELL ON THE INTERNET, WA HAVE DESIGNED IT THAT WAY.

No, I won't be competing against the store I worked in - that was just a tryout to see if I could hack being a retail assistant. My niche I've selected is waay off that :)
I agree with your statement about WA being designed to help you sell - it's one of the thousands of reasons I'm still here.
