Monthly Update - July 2014
Another month has gone by, so that means it's time for my July update on the progress I've made on my Bootcamp website. I know I'm a few days late, but I didn't have any internet access for the last couple days.
July was a really good month in terms of content creation. I was able to write 17 new blog posts, rewrite my about me page, and edit many of my previous posts based on suggestions from Kyle, Eddie, and Nathaniell.
I really focused on writing more product reviews and also did a series on starting an E-Commerce website as well as a couple other random posts.
This is where I spent my Saturday! It's Camps Bay in Cape Town, South Africa. That mountain is called Lion's Head.
In terms of traffic, the first half of the month was a bit slow. The last week and a half of the month really started to pick up though. I started getting about 6-8 organic visitors a day, compared to 0-3 previously. The average continues to go up day by day. Just yesterday I had 15 organic visitors! (That's in August though, so it doesn't count for this post!)
This is really exciting because it seems like I'm making the jump to the next level of recognition with Google according to The Stages Of Organic Ranking. The fact that it's happening in month four and I am in the "make money online" niche is also cool because it usually takes longer to get good rankings.
In terms of training here in WA, I have successfully completed Course 5 of the Affiliate Bootcamp. I have been diligent about completing every single task. Now I am on to Course 6 which I'm a little bit nervous about since it starts to deal with PPC. I don't have much extra money at all, so I just have to trust the process and trust that the long term results will outweigh the short term costs.

I didn't have any sales again, but I have gotten a few organic referrals to WA as well as Jaaxy. So, it's only a matter of time, especially considering that my traffic numbers are increasing!

- Post a total of 12 new posts this month YES
- Get three sales NO
- Get over 750 visitors to my site NO
- Get over 75 organic visitors to my site YES (73 is close enough for me!)
- Reduce the bounce rate for organic visitors to 70.00% YES
- Increase my social media following to a total of:
Goals for August:
- Post a total of 16 new posts/pages
- Ten sales of any kind
- Have a net profit for the month
- Over 750 free visitors to my site
- Over 300 organic visitors to my site
- Over 300 PPC visitors to my site
- Complete Affiliate Bootcamp, Course 6
- Increase my social media following to:
- Facebook: 30 page likes
- Twitter: 250 followers
- Google Plus Business Pages: 45 followers
- Pinterest: 75 followers
- Email list: 15 subscribers
I hope you all can find these monthly reports encouraging. Although I haven't brought in any money yet, my traffic is increasing and everything is going exactly as described in the training here in WA. I can sense that I am getting close and have been told by another very successful member here that I am getting very close to my "breakthrough" moment. I can't wait!
I love taking pictures of flowers when I see them. Just thought I would share one of my favorites of the month with you.

i feel like i'm at a similar stage as you.july was month 4 for me, i'm getting about 15 visitors a day, etc. great to see some extra motivation!

Nice work Dustin. If you really want to see flowers, take a drive to Langebaan, it's only an hour away from where you are. Just make sure that it's a sunny day. I'm not talking about a few flowers, more like millions. They only occur around this time of year for a few months.
Maybe come visit me, I live close by.

Well done on your work so far Dustin. You certainly have put in great effort. (Far more than I have!) I see today your Capetown weather is now reaching us and we'll have to say goodby to our usual winter 25-28DegC for a while. Best Wishes
Haha. I guess it has been "cold" here...or so the locals say.
It seems pretty darn nice to me!!! Sure beats the snow and blizzards I'm used to during winter :)
