We all make mistakes in our lives. It what we learn from those mistatkes so you don't repeat them in the future. If you don't learn anything from your mistakes, then you don't just repeat your mistakes but you can also damage your reputation.
In business, your reputation is everything. Therefore, it's up to you to protect it. Yes there are times when something happens that's out of your control, but then you have to practice damage control. Sometimes the mistakes you made may be out of your control because you get involved with disreputable peoplewho only care about making money for themselves and using you in the process to do it. That is another way that you can damage your reputation.
When you offer more value than what you charge someone then you are building a good reputation for yourself among your customers. Make sure when you joint venture with someone that they have the same values as you do or they will gouge your customers and damage your reputation. Then you have to rebuild your business.
