Abraham Maslow
Maslow addresses the theory of motivation
your goal is to become self actualized
what motivates you to succeed
if you follow Maslow's hierarchy at the bottom you needs the basics just to survive
As you go up the hierarchy your needs change first comes safety where take care of your own needs, then building strong relationships, learning to believe in yourself, and finally learning how to take care of your problems and accepting someone else for who they are
The highest level is usually the hardest to achieve for many people. Before you can accept someone else as your equal you have to first accept yourself for who you are.
It all falls back on Eric Berne's theory of these 4 quadrants
I'm ok you're ok
I'm ok you're not ok
I'm not ok you're ok
I'm not ok you're not ok
We tend to use comparisons and find fault in ourselves or someone else
We all have self-doubt. We all suffer the curse. Yes, the struggle is real.

Thanks Davida... I love philosophy and value introspection, but I don't do much of either. As a young man I was much the philosopher, yet I moved away from it, probably moving lower on Maslow's pyramid. Turns out that while I enjoy philosophy I'm not fond of hemlock.
Cheers,
Steve
