P is for Page
The blank page, whether it is paper or electronic, offers so many creative possibilities! How will it be filled?
Perhaps with a motivational post?
An informative eBook?
Maybe a technical explanation for the latest software upgrade?
A product review to help someone make a decision?
A creative story to teach a lesson?
An opinion piece to garner support for a worthy cause?
The list is endless. I find the writing process to be exciting. Going from the blank page to publication is a very creative process. It is always the result of much editing; trying to find just the right phrasing to express thoughts and feelings. I have already re-written this short paragraph several times to make sure the words properly reflect my thoughts. With each edit, the content is improved. I feel such a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment with the finished product.
Once the creative process is done comes the tedious process of checking for spelling errors and proper grammar. This is just as important as the writing. Using the right punctuation makes the reading flow. Proper grammar is crucial to make the writing understandable.
Once something is on that page, there is importance and value placed on the information. It is no longer just thoughts in your head, but a formed idea that is public knowledge. Others will react to it in some way, either positively or negatively. Therefore, there is a responsibility as to how we fill up that piece of paper. Once published that page has a permanency. There is no going back on the information.
Our websites, created here at Wealthy Affiliate, give us the platform to transform the blank page into something of meaning and permanence. We begin this journey with nothing and with each training, we add to the page. It becomes something that will influence people and solve their problems. There is a lot of responsibility associated with filling our pages. We want our influence to be positive. The process satisfies so many aspects of our personalities. We use our intellect, but it is also very creative. Our imagination, along with persistence and hard work produce all the wonderfully varied websites that make up the Internet.
