Your Opinion

Because I enjoy fishing, fishing lures are my niche. I write "how to" fishing articles, reviews of lures, regional fishing info, etc. I have been displaying a range of fishing equipment on my site for different affiliates. Lately, I have been wondering if I display the equipment in the most effective way.

I have been using images linked to the affiliate with a caption. I have tried both adding and omitting price.

The Original Floater by Rapala

I am wondering if Images with text from affiliates might be a better choice.

Personally, I think the images look better, but they are harder to place on the page. As well, some form of instruction is necessary to encourage clicking on a image to purchase. I add an instruction box somewhere on each page. (Its much smaller on the site.)

What's your opinion? As a visitor to a site, would you tend to purchase by clicking on an image after reading instructions or on a banner for a lure? You opinion will help me keep on fishin'!

IF YOU ARE WITH EASYAZON THERE IS A TEXT LINK THAT WHEN YOU HOVER ON IT IT THEN SHOWS UP THE PIC AND THE BOX WITH THE INFO IN IT....
ON MY SITE SO FAR I HAVE GONE FOR PIC LINKED TO AFFILIATE XOXO

Awesome lures And good value. I am heading in the click on the image especially if there is price, it is a time thing for me I see it you have sold it I want to buy it kind of thing.

Thanks Drjec;- Promoting what you know about or familiar with, make things easier in the field of marketing

Thanks. After I started this niche, I realized that a lot of people who fish are like me.... they like to rummage around bait shops. I am trying to create that online.

Make visuals and directions no matter how mundane. I think the more you hold ya (consumers) by the hand the more we like it, we don’t have to think.

I think the more you go the extra mile also shows your passion and purpose, gets me more excited to go by your expertise.
Hope that makes sense.

Thanks.

If your target audience are people with money ready to buy, then I would include price (the Amazon image). If the target audience is people looking for information, then I would use your graphic with text.

Thanks. I really hadn't thought about that distinction.

I vote for the image and click thru

Thanks.

I would prefer to click following instructions. Jay

Thanks.

Always let the product and process do the selling. If they are interested they will tell you then bring on the price

That's good advice.

Thank you James

I actually like the way you are doing it. It seems less salesman-y. It encourages people to click on the image without being pushy. I realize that it is harder, but I think it will lead to more click and more sales. Well done!

Anita

I think the banner. It is fairly self-explanatory. People don't have to read a lot of instructions. A banner makes it easier for them and they know the price up front.

I am thinking of figuring a way to mix up the two. Thanks for commenting.
