Site Comment Thing

Well, I decided to write another site comment at that forum. I put extra work into it. Again, the site was something that was not only interesting, but something that I was told by a doctor, I need in my life. I thought my comment was positive with a question as suggested. It was completely original because it was from my unique point of view. I engaged the subject and even purchased an affiliate product. The comment was rejected.

I don't know why I didn't think of this before, but the rejection was for a specific niche. As I looked back over my comments, I realized, not only were all the rejections related to a specific niche, but also to a specific author. This particular author is the only person who has rejected my comments. This person has rejected all my comments.

My thinking has always been to read an article and comment before checking out the author so that the comment can be unbiased. Well, I am going to begin to skip at least one author so that i will continue to want to keep on fishin'!

I'm hearing so many people talk about their comments having to be a certain length or being rejected or 2 for 1 that honestly I've been afraid to go anywhere near that yet!

Roger that.

Interesting. I have always tried to be honest and helpful in my commenting and I am pleased that most of the other WA'ers have been as forthcoming. The comments and feedback -- positive and not-so-positive -- are really helpful as I build product and I tend to use them all to refine my website "voice" and the way I present my ideas.

I have had very few rejected comments of my own so I hope I've been as much of a help to others.

My own feeling is that the one who is universally rejecting all comments may not understand that he cannot craft comments to suit whatever agenda he is espousing. That really isn't how it works, I think.

Perhaps this person would be happier disabling the comment option. That turns it all into a monologue, which is a bit of a bore and unlikely to attract traffic, but then that is always a choice.

If you say things like "nice site", "I think the content was presented nicely", "I like your design", etc, that could have been the reason why it was removed.

If you have the comment itself that you want to PM me I can have a look as there are rare instances where a comment isn't approved that should be and I can investigate here.

Generally speaking, I know your experience will be really good using SiteComments but since this is a community sometimes there can be strange little conflicts like this.

The same thing happened to me. I left a comment about the product not feedback about his site. I thought a very good comment. It is upsetting to put the time in for two comments in hopes of one in return - and then to be rejected!

That's bizarre, and kind of rude - on that one author's part. Glad you finally figured out the problem, so you can save your time and energy posting quality comments where they will be graciously received.

Wow, that is crazy

Out of curiosity, Jim, could you pm me the page urls along with your comments? I want to see if I can spot the issue. If you're doing everything correctly, then this person is wasting your credits. If not, maybe I could shed some light.

Where are commenting?

Where are you commenting?

On your main WA page, click on the SiteRubix blue thing. You'll get a list of Site features. One of them is "Site Comments." Click on that and you're there....

That is why I'm so indignant of this thing because the person giving the comment can be just a victim of something subjective. I can approve all comments for as long as it is related to the site. If a comment is something that is not germane to what is presented, it would be an opportunity to have a constructive counter comment to be given but still, it adds to the credibility of the site and the owner.
To other people, they just want to see favorable comments but when you inject a question that they cannot answer maybe it becomes a reason for rejection.

I bet it's the same author who rejected mine, I check before I take the time to comment now.

At least you commented again which lead you to realize this.
Funny how this author posted twice that he doesn't get the comments he is looking for.
