Old School Can be Good
If you are like me, it's easy to think that thousands of people are paying attention every time you post something on Facebook. Unfortunately, you probably don't have as many people following you on Twitter as does our President. You are likely Linked-In,Instagramed and ranked on Google, but still have to work hard at bringing traffic to your sites. I know I am and I do.
Try not to forget about old school communication. It may not be exciting, but old school certainly builds personal connections. It may not be instantaneous, but it creates some degree of certainty that your message has been seen. Do you write letters? Put your website on your letterhead and in the return address on the envelopes. If you only use email, make sure that your website is easily seen in the signature section of every email you send. Do you have business cards for your website? You can get 500 for almost nothing. Its actually a nice experience to walk up to someone and say, "I have an online business that I want to share with you. Here's my card." (I love to say, "Here's my card.") . What about your telephone answering machine. Oh, sorry, its called voice mail. Does everyone calling you hear about your online business?
You get it. Old methods of communication are still useful. I haven't figured out how to use smoke signals or drums to promote my business, but I have considered skywriting. The personal touch is important. Since you are writing to, talking to and calling dozens of people every day, you might as well be pitching your business at the same time. Keep on fishing!!

There’s something very special about receiving a letter in the mail. Nice post - Marijana
I especially like the personal touch that good old fashion letters could afford, and the potential responses that they could garner!
