Life Jackets
I am a good swimmer. Boats have been a big part of my life since I was a little boy. I always feel at home on the water.... you know.... in control. I am prepared for almost anything. Although one is always near, I don't usually wear a life jacket. It might be because of pride or it might be too restricting. Life jackets are an important piece of equipment. But, they are not necessary until they are needed.
As I get older, life jackets have become kind of a symbol for me. Help and support aren't important, until I need help and support. Always independent, as the years pile on, some things have become too physically demanding so my grandkids can help. Daily details are easy to forget so lists have become important. I just need to remember where I put them. New things, such as blogging or maintaining a website require instruction and support.
Having recently found the time to jump back into blogging and into the WA community, there are lots of things I was doing a year ago that I am learning again. I am finding that the WA community is like a life jacket for me. Today, I asked a question because I just couldn't remember how to do something. Within 1/2 hour, 16 people had answered my question. As it turns out, I knew the answer but didn't know I knew it. The WA community is just there until its needed. Then it is there for me ..... and for you... like a life jacket. Keep on fishing.
