I Love the DMV
Well, not really, but I have found a way to make a visit to the DMV tolerable.
I went to the DMV to add a name to a "Pink Slip" a few days ago. After waiting an about hour, when I got to the window with all of my paper work, I was told that there was still a lien on the vehicle so I couldn't get the certificate of registration.
I went home and emailed the lender saying that they hadn't released the lien asking that they email me a copy of the release when completed. They did right away. So, the next day I went back to the DMV and waited about an hour. When I got to the window, I was told that I needed an original copy of the release of lien.
I went home and called the lender asking them to send an original release. They were gracious enough to overnight the document primarily because they had neglected to send it originally. So, I went back to the DMV and waited about an hour. When I got to the window, they completed the certificate of registration for me, but said that I couldn't add a name until the actual certificate came in the mail.
So, in about a week, I will go back to the DMV, wait about an hour and add a name to my new certificate of registration. Want to know my secret to staying calm and patient through this experience? I spent the waiting time on my cell phone reading WA posts and writing an article for my website. So, not only has WA helped me make extra income, it has preserved my sanity. I sure like to do it somewhere else other than the DMV, but working with WA stuff helps me keep on fishin'.

I abhor the DMV--always have--(of course I've dealt with about 500 cars, since I used ot be a used car dealer! Jim, you'r a better man than me--I hate using the cell phone to do WA--I feel so arthritic when I'm done, and autocorrect keeps messing with me too!

Great use of DMV wasted time. I like it, need to get that new Real ID. Ugh, I've been putting it off because it is such a time consuming day that I was so not looking forward to going there. I will go over my WA lessons while I wait wait wait. Thanks for the awesome suggestion 🌺
I hesitated on the DMV bit only realized its the equivalent of our DVLA...and they operate in exactly the same way Jim..;

Guess both the smart phone and you require some praise too as evidently you were both working more efficiently than the DMV..;

That is great. I was a trucker for 14 years. Waiting was a regular "activity" in trucking. So, I too would read, listen to podcasts, or watch videos for pass the time. DMV for a CDL driver can be a nightmare. Try spending 8 hours at a DMV to renew a drivers license.
