I Followed Directions

Today was my day to do some much needed repairs on our RV. I changed the brake and backup lights. I fixed the backup camera and did some minor work on the interior. The big thing I wanted to accomplish was servicing our onboard generator.
Although I have always worked on cars, I have worked on a generator. Of course, I went to Youtube to find a tutorial on the generator in the header image. It's a Cummings Onan 4000. Youtube had tutorials on everything I needed to do. I followed the instructions and everything went well.
Because I had worked on engines, I knew what was meant by an air filter, SAE 30 engine oil, a spark plug, etc. The instructions just told me how to use these familiar things on this unfamiliar piece of equjipment.
I realized that this is the same thing we need to do every time we participatge in a WA training or follow a tutorial. If we ask a question, we need to read and apply the answer to get the benefit of someone else's experience. It would have been easy for me to take a guess at what the right replacement spark plug should be. I might have picked the right plug, but maybe not. The tutorial told me exactly what plug to use. It might seem easy to experiment with something we need to do on our website. But, it makes more sense to follow instructions and do things right the first time.
There were several steps to servicing my generator. The tutoriat helped me get through all of them. There are lots of things that need to be done correctly to build a successful online business. In both cases, following instructions make it easy to "Keep on Fishin."
