Happy Birthday and More!
What a great day! We combined two things in one event which gave us a double reason to celebrate.
Today was our youngest grandson's second birthday. Both of his parents' families gathered to celebrate the day. This was the first time any of us had seen everyone else in person in a year. We have all had our shots so the gathering at one home was okay.
What a joy to watch our grandson walk around in awe as he saw many of his relatives for the first time. He was a bit overwhelmed, but perked up when he realized that there were presents. We have seen him lots of times through face time and he has seen us twice at a distance so we weren't complete strangers. I can't describe the feeling of hugging our grandson after a year!
We joked and laughed as a group, but each took a few moments to see everyone else alone to get caught up a bit and just to get close. I think, up until last March, we took each other for granted because we could interact any time we wanted to. Now, as we saw the changes, lost weight there, more grey hair here, an engagement ring on that finger or a new car in the driveway, we realized all that we had missed.
This short piece has very little to do with online business, but it is a little celebratory post as things get back to normal .....somewhat. It's also to say that the sharing with this community over the past year has added a great deal to isolated lives. I don't think I will be taking family for granted again. Neither will I under estimate the value of my online connection with all of you. I am happy that today has brought some "normal" back into my life as I "keep on fishin'."

Jim - It is necessary to live important items on your other part of your life. It is important to share these with family because as of a rule in most instances that they understand and appreciate you the most. Glad it was a successful day.

I think in addition to your obvious message to anybody with family and friends this is a powerful message for businesses too.
Families and friends are special of course. I think it is equally important that business owners, employees, co-workers and all authorities learn the same lesson of not taking people for granted!

Happy Birthday to your grandson! Indeed, it is awesome to be in the presence of your family members to be able to see them up close and be able to converse with them.

You are right we are happier now. E we still have four grandchildren in Canada but we’re not able to see. That will be wonderful when we can get up there or they can come here. Thanks for reading and commenting.
