A Nice Ranking Surprise
I know it's hard to believe, but there are lots of websites dealing with ice chisels. Despite the fact that I now live in central California, I recently wrote an article about my homemade ice chisel. There aren't many options for keywords involving "ice chisel." I always check the stats on my pages and posts, but I normally don't look for them in browsers. Tonight, for fun, I entered my keyword and found I ranked on the first page of Bing and Yahoo and at the top of the 3rd page of google. Believe me, there is quite a controversy raging between those who use power augers to create a hole for ice fishing and those of us who use ice chisels.
Hopefully, my next article will rank as high as this one but won't be quite so hard hitting and controversial. Because it's winter, I am going to tackle the difficult subject of jigging through the ice with spinners. I don't mind dealing with these tough issues so that I can help people "keep on fishin.'"

The cool thing about fishing is that it is such a broad focused niche and we are all trying to get one up on the fish.
Been stalking a big trout all week, I guess that is why trout get to be big, very cleaver.

Brings back memories of ice fishing on Lake Erie in the 50's. near Lackawana. Brrrrrrrrrr. Icy winds and a tarp for a windbreaker. ..I forget what my dad used to break through the ice. Thanks for the memories..... I do remember the nylon stick and a hook. 100's of smelt. Cook them right their in chimney warmer. Wow! Those were the days!!! I used to live in Petaluma.
