A Few Days to Reboot

My wife and I have just returned from a few days at Yosemite National Park. Its one of the places we go to recharge. The crowds haven't come yet so it felt like we had the place to ourselves. Several of the waterfalls are easily accessible. The roar of the falls combined with the crack of huge chunks of falling ice is an awesome sound.

We sit and walk and look. I often say that I feel small when I look up at the night sky. In the middle of Yosemite's majestic beauty, I feel small but loved. No matter what is going on in life, time at Yosemite puts things in perspective and envelopes me in a sense of peace.

I have missed writing for the last few days. Although I looked at a few posts on here, for the most part, I missed interacting with everyone. Time in the mountains, gazing at the granite carvings all around, walking beside the tumbling Merced River and smelling the aroma of pine and dry grass has recharged me. I am ready to keep on fishin'.

Jim, your description of Yosemite, sounds like one of my guided meditations ... grounding yourself in nature, is so restorative!

I live on Vancouver Island ... volcanic and sedimentary rock everywhere! And I find, standing barefoot on a granite outcrop by the sea, listening to the waves, the seagulls and forest birds ... is the most healing and recharging experience I have ever had.

It sounds like Yosemite is that for you ... enjoy your visits!

I have been to Vancouver Island - love it. I just enjoy being in creation. In Yosemite, I feel insignificant, but very loved.

Yes, it is definitely amazing geology!

Wow! That sounds amazing! There is nothing like nature to rejuvenate! Thank you for the great example!

You're welcome. Thanks for reading.

Did you do any fishin' there Jim?

There are tons of streams and lakes but, unfortunately, the season doesn't open in the park until April 1st. I am going back again in the late spring. Thanks for reading.

Okay, Jim! That sounds awesome!

How awesome. Enjoy the solitude. We'll be here after your rest.

Thanks for reading.

It's a beautiful place for sure. Zion National park is one of our favorites.

I haven't been there yet but want to go. Thanks for reading.
